Hi,

Thanks

Hi Kumar,

One process used to print on a plastic case is serigraphy or silk screening. It is the same process they use to print on T-shirts. I’d suggest looking for a local screen printing company and see if they can help you. If you want to keep costs down you can actually buy a silk screen and printing supplies at art supply stores or even craft stores like AC Moore. It’s not very hard to do but for a product like yours you’d need to build a jig to hold multiple units so you can screen more than one at a time, otherwise you’ll be there forever.

Printing on plastic can get a little tricky because of the smoothness. If you try doing this yourself you’ll have better luck if you case is textured slightly otherwise the ink will wear off with use.

You should be able to find plenty of screen printers though that will be able to handle your item and probably screen it quicker and cheaper than you could depending on the quantities you plan on producing.

I agree with that – also- if you are wanting to print something in the meanwhile, the sticky adhesive paper you can buy at a office supply store, works, too. you can print on it, and cut it to whatever size you want. I have done that- and I think it looks great! simply print your design on the adhesive paper.

Look at companies in your area that use Pad Printing. This is used for items like golf balls and similar small items and this looks to be what you would need.

Actually after checking out your item and reading Heather’s post I think a down and dirty transparent sticker would be the perfect way to go. It would probably be the cheapest and quickest way to get your logo on your item with minimal fuss.

If you are interested in going that route, check out
uprinting.com

they do great work and have very fast turn around times.

Thanks for your response. I do use a label/sticker and print it myself.

Few people asked me if I can get company logos printed on it, to give it out as a promotional item. So just wanted to confirm that it can be done, easily.

S, you may alternatively have images built in the mold to create a ‘carved’ or ‘embossed’ effect. It would need to be something simple, given the small size of your product.

I’d recommend having your logo printed on a coated (glossy) label. You should have them professionally done to ensure the ink won’t rub off or run if exposed to water. You can probably get by with a two-color label which will cost $200-250 for 1,000. Try customizedstickers.com.

You can have custom labels printed for your customers if they’d like to order them with their own logo or artwork.

Hello Kumar,

The process that we have been very successful is Pad Printing, as mentioned below. We’ve done everything from plastic goggle inserts to glass slides. This process allows us to print on any shape, round to flat, and provides a lasting image that looks professional.
