I agree with Marcus. As Yoda would say “an inspiration you are”.
I’ve heard a Christian minister claim that depression is the result of one turning his focus inward where we often become mired in self pity, fear and sadness. The remedy oftentimes is to redirect our focus outside and help someone, forcing ourselves to encounter the problems and misery of others where we often come to realize we don’t have it so bad and thus the depression can be diluted and even conquered. Your kind words and encouragement here in your posts indicate you have a natural grasp of that ministry. You have brought a smile to my heart on occasion and I pray that you receive that love tenfold.

Toni…I knew we were kindred spirits and just not by name. Thanks so much for sharing your story. I can completely relate to the effects of cancer treatment because I am a 16 year cancer survivor. I have no doubt that you will triumph and overcome. One thing that helped me get through all of my treatments and the sickness that entails before getting well was I smiled through it all. Each time I went to my tri-weekly chemo treatments the nurses would comment and say how they looked forward to my appointments because I brightened up the entire office. For me it was the best medicine. Please know that you are in my prayers and I’m available if you need to share with someone who can relate to all you are going through. Much love…the other Toni.

Toni, I’ve been praying my heart out for you for the past few months and I’ll never forget what you told me before you started your treatments……If I come out of this and can’t remember you, just remember I love you…..but who knows, I may come out of this and want to start cooking!

I’m glad the treatments are over and that you still remember all of us. But the real question I have for you is this: Do you have an overwhelming urge to start baking?? or do I need to send you that pie ahead of schedule?

On a serious note, I’m very proud to count you among my friends. You have been through a lot and have done so with courage, grace and an incredible attitude and sense of humor……I never heard a wimper, a whine or a negative comment from you. You truly are an inspiration to everyone here on how to face whatever life throws at you while continuing to stay positive!

Toni, I’m so glad it’s over. I love that you told the nurse it was a breeze! Now Rilee has her brave Grandma with her for a lifetime of hugs! What a beautiful reward for going through all of that. And now you’re even ready to help others who might be facing this treatment. You are an awesome friend and a beautiful person and we are all lucky to have you in our lives. :-)))

Toni is one of the bravest, talented, creative, loving and funny people I know. Knowing she was going thru this has truly been an inspiration. Toni shared with me that she had a brain tumor when we first became friends. She was so matter of fact about it, you would think she was telling me about a pair of shoes. She said something like, ‘Hey, we all have problems.’ When she decided to go thru these radiation treatments, it was scary—-BUT, she NEVER complained. She was more worried about certain EN submissions, than about the treatment.

I have often teased Toni and said, ‘Hey, that tumor just might be stimulating the creative part of your brain….no wonder you have so many G7s!’ :-)

Anyway, my darling friend. You are brave, beautiful and you got thru it! Whoo-Hoo!!! You continue to inspire me daily! I wouldn’t know what to do without you! I LUVS YA!!!!!!! But then, you knew that! :-)

PS: And continued good health to you too Lisa! Good health is worth more than all the G8s in the world! Stay strong! :-)

Wow Toni, I’m so sorry you’ve had such a struggle to deal with. So glad you felt good about being able to open up about it on here. I think it says a lot about the people here that you were able too. I’m sending you lots of good thoughts and vibes from my family to yours and look forward to getting to know you better.

Toni, omgosh, of course we are praying that your on the road to recovery. I feel for you, my neighbor just finished round 2 for breast cancer and it’s been a rough road but I really think attitude is the key and my dear you HAVE A GREAT ONE!! That alone makes me smile you have lot’s of great things coming your way with EN and you are a gem of a lady, keep up that smile!

Ditto what Penster said. I’ve been praying for your health (and was so moved) since you so openly shared with me, Toni. To come to this arena and share your experience and offer support to others is testimony to your wonderful magnanamous spirit.
