Hi,
I logged two ideas. They were at level 2 and level 3. Today I realized that being an insider, with opt-in, I could post it at multiple places, so I did it. But it has gone to stage 1 again, for the new places. When the initial review etc. is already done, why do they have to redo it for a different group.

Wow. That’s really helpful, Roger. Thanks for all the help in all my thread. I really appreciate that. You seem to be a complete guru in this forum.

I would not worry about which one will give a better payout and concentrate on getting it picked up to begin with. You want to have your product seen by as many companies it fits their target market. If your idea crosses over into different markets it is not unusual to see more than one license. That is where the difference in a exclusive and non-exclusive license comes into play.

Hmm. That’s interesting. I wish I knew this before. BTW, between ASOTV and Bed Bath and Beyond, which gives a better payout or where do people generally earn more. Is there any statistics on this?
Which is the most sought after?

Thanks for responding to my queries. What does the term “dibs” mean?

I haven’t kept very close track of my own points, but I’ve heard it said that opt ins do not receive points..?

From what I have learned, you will get points for every stage you pass in any search………………..also, the first search that you reach G8 in will get first dibs on your submission……………..good luck!

Makes sense – 2 quick questions
So if my idea crosses stages in different companies
1. Will I get points for each company for which a stage was crossed
2. What if it reaches 8th stage in both companies? Who will get to develop it then?

Frank is correct. Each one is given the proper review because each Product Search is different. What would make a great ASOTV may be a bad fit for a different type search. Plus, you have people that send a product to any search no matter if it fits that catergory or not. I get emails from Inventors that have sent their idea to a company and don’t understand why they rejected the idea. They ask me to look it over and I find they sent a bicycle idea to a company that makes Pet toys or some other company that is no where near what they sent. Just because a company makes things does not mean they will make anything. The same applies to searches.

Each “place” is for different sponsors, thus a different evaluation criteria, thus must go through the
complete process, starting at stage #1.
