I think that I may have several great ideas for commercials. Is there a place in here to present those ideas?
I tried looking in the “search” places, typing in “commercials” – did’nt really come up with anything…
Sincerely,
Lisa

Ok! Thanks everyone for the edit info. Well, let me just apologize in advance for all the spelling, punctuation, and grammer errors I am sure to submit in here. Sometimes, I get in a hurry and type and such before I think. So, anyway, Thanks All!:) |

You might be right Ranier. Good question if Lisa’s talking about editing a POST that she writes here on the forum, or editing a SUBMISSION. So, you gave her the correct-o advice for editing a post, and I did for editing a submission. I make spelling mistakes all the time when I’m posting on the forums, and you’re right, ya have a small window of opportunity to change it. If not, oh well……we ALL mess up! :-) |

You only have about 5 minutes after you post to edit then that option is gone. The edit option is in your post ..It shows up after The web guy can change this option so you have a longer time to edit or even delete entire posts. All So if u need to edit hurry and do it right away :) PS: Hmmm This is for post in the forum ..if not ignore my reply and listen to what Besty posted. |

Lisa, I searched ‘edit submission’ and this thread came up. Even though no one can comment on that thread anymore, the information is there. Love that little green search button. |

Lisa, to edit….First click on your SUBMISSIONS. Then, there will be a little button that says EDIT. Click on that. Change what you want to and then keep scrolling down and hit the button on each page, Save and Continue until you get to the end. Then hit Track My Submission and you’re all set! |

There are some articles out there on how one might go about it. http://advertising.about.com/od/askapryl/a/askp... I had luck googling: “television commercial” idea contest |

How do you edit a post you have submitted? Example: I want to change the spelling of a word. Thanks :) |

Lisa, I’ve never seen a search on EN for a script for a commercial. If you submit a product idea for an ASOTV search and your product is chosen…then EN and the sponsor shoot an Infomercial. |

Hi Sleepyhead, I’m kind of protective of myself and would’nt meet someone unless it were in a group situation. I’ve just learned to be a bit careful in life. But, thanks. :) |

If you are within a decent distance, getting together will give you a lift you cannot get from friends and family: inventors just think differently and it becomes apparent when we get together. (or maybe that is just wishful thinking or I remember incorrectly….) |

Lisa- O.K. so it looks like you are talking about the actual ‘scripting’ or content of the commericals themselves…not the designing of the actual product in the commericial, correct? Sometimes that’s a tough road to go down without being a member of the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) or some association, etc… Doesn’t hurt to try, but don’t be too surprised when they say what you’ve already heard…. “no outside solicitations allowed.” I cannot help you with ‘commericials’ too much, but would be glad to offer any help you need with the ‘inventing’ process. I’m also in Colorado, about 16 miles SW of Denver. Welcome to EN, you’ll find a great bunch of helpful folks here! |

Hi Sleepyhead, I’m originally from Texas. Now living in Colorado. I sang my gingle into a tape recorder and sent it to them with a letter describing the place and the players in the commercial. I like to sing. :) |

So, you don’t have a beer product but you took a beer ad and re-worked it? With actors, etc? Or did you cut and paste the beer company’s ad and alter it? Can’t tell from your profile – where are you located? |

Hi Sleephead, No, that’s ok. I’m kind of a tv commercial buff. I like them and I hate them. Since sometimes we have to endure some commercials (can’t get to the mute botton fast enough). I think in my mind how to improve them or change them all together. It’s sort of a hobbie of mine. I have several ideas. I also believe we should have a law in place that says commercials have to change or be done away with after a certain amount of time on the air. I get sick of seeing the same commercials over and over again (even good ones). I tried submitting one once to a beer manufacturer. They wrote back and said, they could’nt accept unsolicited material. :( It made me very sad. So, I still think of commercial ideas and keep them to myself. Mostly funny ones. |

Lisa, You have products already AND you had TV commercials made, showing those products? Why would you make commercials? Do you mean videos? I’m very old and I get confused easily – on top of that, I’m a wordsmith (in my own mind) and I read and understand every word and take them literally (not exactly an endearing quality)………. |

Yes, I have a few tv commercials that I’d like to submit. And thanks Sleepyhead. I will watch for the ASOTV searches. |

Lisa- Are you talking about actual ‘products’ that can be featured on TV ‘infomercials’ or the infomericial scripting itself? I wasn’t sure by the wording of your post. I’m also on some serious painkillers today, so it could very well be just me. :P ~TCOMC |

That is what the ASOTV searches are – watch for them. |
