Fun Crowd Sourcing

For about 2 years I have been collecting common english phrases related to TIME such as…time flies, passing through time, punch the clock, high noon etc. and have come up with about 115 so far. Then I thought it would be cool to collect humorous definitions for the phrases like…vacation time;when you find all the water leaks in your RV,or break time;most often occurs when your employer is not around. This creative exersize may at some point become “The Greatest Book Of All Time” so I’m looking for clean-origional material.

“Time” to shut down that sour grapes, broken record thread. And hope that inventor can salvage some of the holiday “time”.

A stitch in time saves nine
Time is everything
It’s about time.
I’m having the time of my life.
No time like the present.
Could you spare some time?
Time’s a-wasting!

Time for few more:

Time wounds all heels (or vise versa)
It takes time to save time
Time is money
These are the times that try men’s souls (and how!)
There’s a time for all things

Kudos to Margaret P… for ‘Hammer Time’ …was my answer.

In light of that… I must turn to the ancients of Rome for inspiration… and t’ was the Roman Stoic philosopher, Seneca who proclaimed:

‘Time discovers truth!’

…and it was the Greek mythological figure, Chronus [Khronus], god of indefinite time – primordial god of the ages who emerged from the Chaos to be known to us today as:

‘Father Time’

…but yeah, Hammer-Time is definitely my first answer. :-)

Winter Time; when you first become aware of the price of propane…
Time to take out the trash; when the sound of the garbage truck wakes you up…
The Time is ripe;when you open that mysterious container from the back of the refrigerator.

From time to time time will tell when the time is right.
Is it time to eat, killing time, wasting time, a waste of time.
Time and again the hazards of time, better luck next time
over time, time off for good behavior.
Two time, time to get a watch watch the time.
Out of time…
Make time!
Making time…
Better make time!
Time is up.

Down Time; when things just don’t seem to be looking up.

Rhyme Time; when there’s no reason.

Big Time; when little time or no time are not an option.

Fine Time; when the rough times are behind you.

No Time; the present.

Free Time; the most expensive time of all.

Alone Time; often when you are lost…or lost time.

Sometime; better than no time.

Prime Time; when you run out of gas.

High Time; when you finally get down time.
