Hello to all:
I just joined EN and love this website. I have been unemployed since last January. After working in the business world for so long, for the first time I am at home and all these ideas keep coming to me that would make life a little easier in the home. I had done creative work for the company that made things easier in the office world, and it looks like it is seeping through doing housework. Seeing that my money is limited (IE unemployment check, plus money put back knowing what was about to happen), I can’t afford to put alot of dollars out there. Can anyone please let me know how I can get the ideas put forth without spending an arm and a leg for everything that goes with it. Like blueprints, prototypes, marketing, etc.

Hi Jo:
I believe this website is a good start. I also find myself with lots of ideas that I don’t know what to do with. In my case I am employed, but with little to no time to find potential clients. For me, I just recently entered about four ideas in the Live Product Search and am waiting to see what happens. If I don’t get a good response, then I’ll go elsewhere. People in these forums frequently mention other websites, inventor friendly companies, etc. There is a wealth of knowledge here. I met a toy agent recently who said there is strength in numbers. Companies may not want to deal with you individually, but if you have a consortium of people -people like yourself with experience at a creative company – then they would be dumb not do listen to you. Maybe if you consort with former employees at your company, you can build this consortium (Just a thought); pool together resources, etc. Its all about networking.

Jo,
Welcome! That’s the beauty of Edison Nation. You can submit an idea without drawings. But anything you can provide to make sure your idea is understood is helpful. You can sketch something, or make a prototype and take pictures, or shoot video of it to submit. You don’t have to have anything professionally done to submit an idea.
Best of luck in your endeavors!
