Thank you for your kind words and input. I don’t really stress out on the drawings but rather make sure they communicate the intent. The words make up the rest on that race to G4 then, the long wait begins.

They make it well known that they just need your idea. The clearer the better. A great idea will shine if the description is clear and persuasive. If you add a simple drawing it should make it even easier to imagine. Stick together a prototype and video that (with great lighting) and it will make it even easier for them to understand and get excited about. But it all comes back to the idea (thank goodness). Fancy graphics won’t save a dumb idea. ;-)

That said, they sure are fun to have! John did drawings for me a long time ago, before Talva. I was completely blown away seeing my thing all shiny and perfect and built looking! So cool. And if you plan on pursuing your idea beyond EN if it should get a red X, it will become more of an issue.

That brings up an interesting question for me; How detailed do any drawings or renderings have to be if they get your point across? I have basic drafting skills and seem to be OK in the final presentation so I ‘think’ I’m OK with submitting to EN with these limited skills.
From what I hear Betsys’ ‘Egg’ idea (don’t know if it ever took off? lol) was a simple idea requiring only simply drawings. But (as Steve Martin would say) If I want to submit an Automatic Dog Polisher would the drawings have to reflect every gear and electrical contact? (I’m hoping not)
I guess my point is this; aside from the stereotypical Stick Figures how much weight is put on professional renderings from a submitted drawing that gets the idea across?
