We’re looking for funny or stupid invention for a tv show. If you have footage already, even better. National exposure with comedians making fun of your invention or mishap if it airs… Also looking for footage of things that went wrong with inventions during tapings, demos, etc…

Please email off list at gmtelevision@yahoo.com along with a description of your invention/incident

Jamie,
It is kind of a slap in the face to ask real inventors for stupid or funny inventions. We (inventors) make useful products to improve the quality of life. We never consider our inventions funny or stupid. We have poured thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to develop that one product that investors would be interested in. If we thought our inventions were funny or stupid, we would not waste our time or money.

Uhm, I disagree Alvin. At times, life is a comedy routine. We may start out with serious invention intentions, but life has a way of thumbing its nose at us. Might as well laugh. Why not share our missteps and let others laugh along with us?

I personally came up with a brilliant idea for the CarolinaPad seach. Thought about it for weeks before I had time to make a prototype. Five minutes into the actual building of it, I realized why my idea wasn’t on the market. Pesky Laws of Physics. How many great ideas have they ruined? (;^)

Jamie, I’d suggest checking the patent office for material. Lots of nutty inventions are already patented. In any case, my mind is off and running with your stupid/funny invention idea. Can’t help it. It’s a sickness. Is there a deadline?

Every inventor is unique and has their own pursuit.

I have several thousand dollars into this:

and I have made all the money back and now make a small profit from it. I chose this idea because it was the cheapest idea to make and market myself. It is definitely stupid and it is also just a bunch of nonsense. If I can’t involve humor in almost every aspect of my life, I would rather stay in bed.

I do agree with Alvin to a certain extent. On the serious side, I learned a lot about plastics, molds and packaging. And I now have relationships with a couple domestic companies and one Chinese company. No matter the invention, you need to be serious about the process, but not always the idea itself.

Not that it’s an invention but a little humor in business can be comforting. For 10 years the name of my roofing company in new orleans has been “When It Rains It Pours Roofing.” the customers always say that’s clever n they like it. I tried it out as a joke and it stuck n it really works!

OK…I submitted my funny invention…why not…I’ll take another TV appearance. I am becoming a publicity slut. atleast I admit it!

I better submit it to EN too though for their Spencer search…surely they will have another.

i submitted my funny/stupid invention. I make the worlds only Cardboard Box Upright Bass that sounds just like any upright bass made at a greater cost. Mine is a product of engineering science. I am serious about it, but its funny as heck too! Its currently in 12 retail stores and 1 in Mexico City. Its raved in Bass Player Magazine and it won Best in Show at the 2008 Summer NAMM Trade Show. I hope my product gets the opportunity to be in front of many people as they laugh at my Bogdon Box Bass. Great tone is undeniable. it either sounds good or it doesnt.

I invented man-scented matches that come in bacon, pizza and BBQ chicken scents to hide those embarrassing odors in the toilet.
