I think Eric has submitted over 50 thousand himself. His brain keeps cranking out new ideas. Stop, give the rest of us a shot! |

My first submission from 6/29/09 was assigned 28,315. That was a long time ago, close to EN’s beginning so maybe they started with 20,000. |

I’m with Eric on his theory. I do that with lps’s and name searches…of course now we could easily be tripped up. haha But I would be curious if anyone (olderest-timers) have a a serial number on one of their very earliest submissions just to test the theory. After that it’s a no-brainer…divide the 55K by the number of searches. The same olderest-timer might have a good idea of how nmany searches there have ever been in their “submissions” file. hmmmmmm EDIT Now that I think a bit more…the snowball effect of the increased popularity of EE and EN and the awareness of the great successes will certainly skew any averages. In fact, even if they were so willing and/or able to share this info, we all know this locomotive is just getting rolling, no? so each search is going to have more entries than the last unless the search is for something obscure like say , a prosthetic hand? |

OMG! Thats alot! However, considering all of the previous LPS’S, it would be interesting to know aprox how many each search receives on average! |

I just entered an idea and it was given the number 55119. I think there are 55,119 ideas in their database. |

There’s popular and there’s productive popular. There’s always going to be a significant percentage of one shot inventors who come by to submit a single invention and never log into forums, etc. More submissions creates a larger reviewing budget, I’d think. More budget + more submissions = more staff = more contacts = more LPS = ? Just a guesstimate. |

Well said Greg. Guess we need to approach it as a business to have the best shot. |

I look at it this way..the more popular EN gets the longer it will take to Not to mention EN would have to increase their staff. All and all EN is the best ! |

Maybe more like poker than the lottery. Any single hand has a high level luck, but it is about the long game and the skills you use and where you put your time. We ante up and every hand has a winner. Better stop, experiencing an analogy storm where there is too much concordance… I do wonder, myself, whether they are getting 100, 500, 1000, or even 5000 submissions per LPS. |

I agree with y’all in a way. But another way to look at this: Kinda like the lottery, someone wins! And it’s not pure luck with this. We all have the privilege of entering our ideas for a very low investment and through our talents and perseverance, we at least have a shot of success regardless of the # of submissions from others. Guess it would be nice to be the only game it town, but life is not that way! |

As EN becomes ever more popular, I think your right Jane! Umtillion sounds greater than our national debt. Both discouraging. |
