Any Nano Molecular Photovoltaic Engineers in the House?
Working on a “BIG” idea… Looking for help with Nano Molecular engineering expertise. Very straight forward idea/concept with considerable world market. The components are all readily available in the market, but have not been brought together yet in a synthesized product.
Will share invention.

Spent eight years working for a solar cell manufacturer, but my best suggestion is to see if there is a program through http://sbir.gov/ that may support your effort.

If you are looking into nano applications of solar power, I do believe some folks from the University of Georgia have made nano photovoltaic monofilament. Basically strands of ‘fishing line’ are bundled together to form a thick column or pipe. There are photovoltaic particles embedded in the monofilament that allow sunlight to enter each strand from the end via a lens and produce power. The benefit of course is a solar array that simply stands up like a tube, and makes alot of energy in a very small space. There are either white papers and /or patents filed, so you might want to check them out. I’ll see if I can find the link again…

I’ll toss you a PM, but I’ve got some nanomaterials and metamaterials experience.
I never metamaterial I didn’t like.
Except graphite powder. Even that’s fun, just messy.

Mark, a great place to get help and info for MEMs, NEMs, and nanoparticles in general would be at a local university that does research in those areas. Check the credentials of specific electrical or mechanical engineering profs online first. Most will be more than willing to help you out.
