Cheap manufacturing

I ordered a product from one of the recent ASOTV LPS searches and was completely disappointed with the construction and quality of the product. Is there anyway to ensure that your product will be constructed in accordance with your wishes and dreams. After what I’ve seen, it makes me NOT want to submit my product to ASOTV because after all the work and sweat and pride i’ve put into my idea I’ d be very sorry to have my product made by the company that made the one i bought. I would give up 3 years of royalty checks to have a quality product made here in the USA that i would be proud to put my name on. Is this something you have a say in or do they just make your product as cheaply as possible without thought to pride in manufacturing??

I think a lot of the As seen on tv products are just burnout items…..They don’t expect them to produce income for very long but it is fast and massive cash flow on a short term basis and then their off onto the next big deal. I bought that metal plate that removes tarnish and makes your silver look like new……Well it did clean up the silver and copper pieces a little but far from how it was demonstrated.

Worth it? NO!

Companies that sell an inferior product to meet profit margins seldom stay around very long. The retailers won’t carry product that is constantly being returned. Its a serious blem for a new business to be selling products that are of low quality and profitting through those tacics. Some survive, but many more fail.

But they do profit from it…I believe that ASOTV product is often the SHIPPING and HANDLING itself. They charge 7.95 shipping and handling for EVERY item you order or ANY item you get “free”…The product i ordered was 14.99 and by the time i agreed to the “second one free” and the Companion "free product my final bile was 34 bucks….sooo it I returned everything they still profit more than the price of the original product!! I is MY FAULt completely for agreeing but it still seems like dirty pool

I’ve had some concerns about this also. But if I sign over the control of a business, the new people get to call the shots in the end if that is what is agreed to in the beginning. I believe that is how it gets structured with the LPS based on what I know of Emerycat.

EN took the reigns, and redesigned the product from what I saw on the video on this site. They did a nice job, but the new product caught the inventor by surprise.

When it comes to overseas mfg, once a print is submitted to a manufacturer, it is their responsibility to build the part to your specs. Usually you will sign off on the “first article” that should be submitted to you before they go all out production.

However, things do go wrong in production. Tooling wears out, operator errors, etc. But for the most part it should not be a problem if you are dealing with a good manufacturer that wants repeat business (in the US or abroad). If the "first article is not to spec, the rest of the order probably will not be either. If the production order is delivered to you, and there is a failure rate of 50% for example, if it was a local supplier I would return the entire shipment and tell the supplier to sort it for defects. There is a profit margin built in, so they should be willing to do this ~ no questions even if they lose money on the order. Customer satisfaction is the key, but overseas will probably be that you sort it yourself and seek a new supplier. Lesson learned.

In your purchase, return it. They knew the quality of it before they shipped it. You may lose on shipping but at least they don’t profit from selling junk.
