Thank you so much for sharing the process and the people behind the scenes.
I am grateful to be associated with EN, this opportunity, and the talents that make it happen.
I will continue to look forward to the opportunity to learn more from you and EN members.

Dan, I’ve only watched the Blooper reel (I’m a sucker for them). Great job editing them all together and showing the personalities of the staff. Its nice to see them in their own “environment” and being themselves.
I kept laughing at Louis saying “…its just a prototype” lol.

Ok, so far you guys have blown me away with each new feature. But this takes the cake. This totally outclasses anything I could ever have imagined. I haven’t had a chance to watch them all. But some of them, like “Modeling and Molding Process” are incredible. That’s just what a lot of people need to know. I was surprised to see the professionals use dixie cups and popsicle sticks just like I do! Anyway, Great Job!!

I have a general question regarding the Around the Office Videos…
Is the guy operating the camera possibly related to the camera man from the old Batman TV Show? You know, the one that shot all the crooked-angle scenes whenever Batman & Robin had to scrap with their arch villains and their cronies…Just wonderin’ is all!?
P.S. Love the Behind the Scenes!

Dan, what awould be cool is if you did some “how to” or tip videos on different aspects of inventing. Not sure if you are familiar with the site instructables www.instructables.com but they are little do it yourself videos for different things, this would be cool if your team could do the same for inventors.

Hey Jason,
What kind of “how to” were you wanting to see?
|
Jason Garcia

I’d love how to on everything from different aspects of prototyping to brainstorming for naming a product to negotiating the deal.
I think EE has a talented and knowledgable staff that we could learn alot from. I think that those aspects would help us become better inventors.
I’d also like to see a some sort of suggestion or tips on what EE is looking for as far as the searches and casting calls.
Dan, it was nice seeing you in the videos too.

Jason,
We have in the works a video dealing with how to pitch your product to searches/ EE.
As far as a how-to on different aspects of prototyping….you should check out the interview with the VP of Engineering (Ian)….he gives good insight on prototyping.
If you want to know about negotiating the deal…then you need to check out the commercialization video with Dave Campbell

Wow I just watched some more. What you guys (EN) should do is create a couple of How To vids like Jason suggests. Then package them into a DVD and sell the EN/EE instructional videon on inventing. If I weren’t getting it with my EN subscription I would definitely buy that!

Dan, this isn’t necessarily Around the Office stuff, but I’d love to see extra footage on each invention to show some problems you’ve encountered and how you over came that. I’d also love to see some of the brainstorming on the products, some of the “round tables”, decision making, etc.
I’d also love Louis and/or the team to go more into what they are looking for as far as an invention. I mean, are there certain areas that they are looking for?…certain type of products?
Great Stuff!

Daniel,
I just watched the Blooper video, the guy who’s ‘father used to shake him’ looks like he might be Jim Carey’s love child!

Cheryl…I agree with you…I used to tell Andy he reminded me of Jim Carey!
Hey Jason, I would say about 75% of the problems we encountered with each product made it on the show for instance ( Bubble fountain – noise, bubbles, etc, Skate Sceptor – gas, electric, nitro, Ab Belt – cost, technology….etc)
In the episodes we show the round table and brainstorming discussions…those are the real deal except there edited down to a viewable length….they typically last like an hour (not fun to watch as an outsider…in my opinion…hence why we edit it down)
If I could produce a “how to” video on inventing… I would for you guys…I’m just not sure it is as clean cut as you think….there is no easy 5 step process. This is why I interviewed each dept. head and asked them to speak to the independent inventor with advice.

I’ve watched all of the videos and learned more of what the process actually entails. Thanks Daniel and EN.
I will admit I was searching the backgrounds for any hint of my invention. LOL

Screen capture from the Bloopers video showing the shameless subliminal, or
should I say, not-so-subliminal advertisement for Coca-Cola!?
Note: The Coke can was not photoshop’d, it’s in the actual video.

Here’s an interesting note…I watched the video featuring Juan Marin again and couldn’t figure out what it was about him that made him soooo familiar to me….Then it hit me!?

’NSYNC: Justin Timberlake, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, Juan Marin and Lance Bass.

Murray,
I’m a little disappointed….I would have thought those nice photoshop/ creative skills that Sir Edward displayed would have come from you.
Juan is out of the country on vacation…I’ll have to tell him to check out his picture when he returns.
