Hi Alexa,
I like them both, but my vote is for the old logo.

e is very overused and usually indicates an electronic/web only type of company. Enventys has more to offer than a website, so I would stick with the current one versus the new option.

I like the old one. I’d wonder if your name was E-Enventys with the new one. Perhaps a little bit of black outlining of the E and N in the old logo would make it pop when you fax or do B&W copies.
But I have to confess that ochre is my least favorite color.

Alexa, I like the current logo but think the
bigger e on the new option would look better on the current logo (a bigger en like the new option)

Oh, definitely the current logo, but I agree that the en on the orange tends to wash away.
The problem with the new option is that the extra e is not grounded and just floats in space causing one to wonder what in the world it has to do with anything. I realize you may be hoping to turn the e on the orange box into a recognized brand, but I don’t think it works.
Thanks for asking……

Hi Alexa, I agree that the new version the “e” seems to float without reference. If your goal is to identify with just the “e” in the future, then I would suggest the “e” become much larger in size, dominating with the “enventy’s” less obvious and much smaller written just below the “e” on the bottom of the orange area…My choice between the two, I prefer the old one.
P.S. I would like to more about Eventys

I will give my honest opinion and pick neither. I know that sounds mean, but I just don’t like the orange square for some reason. I think it’s because it’s a square. Or maybe it’s because I like curvier designs rather than boxy? Not sure.
If I had to choose between the two I would pick the old logo. I don’t understand the point of adding an extra “e” to the equation and it’s not connected to the word at all.
Maybe if you extended the bottom of the “t” in the new logo like a lasso to catch the orange square?
Ok, I’ll shut up now :)

the old is better, but it all reminds me of home depot with the box along with those colors when I glance quickly at it.

Yeah,
The new logo I get it as “enventys – outside of the box”, but it took me a awhile.
Out of the two I prefer the old logo for the same various reasons mentioned above. Enlarging the “e” in the old logo is an idea with merit.
I also agree there’s a better color than orange, but it isn’t killing me if you keep it.

I never liked that orange. Reminded me of HD too.

I have to agree with Patrice – neither one strikes me as fantastic and something that I will remember. Between the two, the current one flows better but I think I’d ditch the orange.
Also, if the “en” refers to Edison Nation, then I might try “EN” and maybe parallel the fonts/style

Hi Alexa
I think just using the e w/orange block is sufficient, If enventys is the mother company to EE and EN then the E logo could easily represent them all.

I agree with most here and prefer the ‘old’ logo. Floating E in the new option leaves one to wonder.
The orange, like the front door, of Enventys has never been real popular here on the forum. Perhaps they would like it better in “Gator” country!
I am curious as to the origins of the name Enventys, can you enlighten us?

I’m gonna jump on the current logo bandwagon guys. I’m for leaning the first n to the left and adding “nventys” to the right of the new larger e in the square.

How about a combination if the two. 1)Leave the new, big e in the box, 2) have nventys’ after the big e in the box, ) change the orange to more of a redish orange, ) maybe tilt the box the other way to parallel with the n.

I think the orange in the logo works nicely in conjunction with the rest of the color scheme for the enventys website. It also works well with the rustic feel of the enventys office.
“The Color Psychology of Orange
Orange is a combination of yellow and red and is considered an energetic color.
Orange calls to mind feelings of excitement, enthusiasm, and warmth.
Orange is often used to draw attention, such as in traffic signs and advertising."

I like the original logo more. The “en” within the orange box makes me think of the sister company “EN”. Look at the original logo at the bottom of this page. Now imagine it with the new version in its place. I feel the orange box would over power the black text “ventys”. The orange box’s size and juxtuposition creates tension between the 2 main graphical elements. The new version also provides alot of “dead space”, leading the eye to wander around in an elyptical clockwise direction. It seems to be confused with its self.
The original logo makes great use of space and leads the eye straight through from left to right, from beginning to end. Nothing wasted, no confusion, right to the point.
Suggestions to original logo:
• Change color of “en” from white to PMS cool grey # 2 or 3.
• Move orange box up slightly along the leading line of the “v”.
I feel it “sags” too low.

I think color sometimes is a matter of personal choice and the selection of orange may have revelance to one’s own taste. With only so many colors in the rainbow there has to be some similarities as maybe the reference to Home Depot or other companies.
The goal may be to separate “en” as refered to Edison Nation and introducing the “e” as a reference to Eventy’s and still keeping what is familiar.
The challenge would be is making the graphic bold enough to stand on it’s own…maybe enventy’s written just below the box outside and paralel to the bottom line. Or using a transparent method when using the orange box and making it more subtle.

I realize if you hit my name under the avatar it will open up to my profile where you can see the entire graphic. Of course I do not know the entire story about how it connects to this and the colors of the building, some have mentioned.. Just playing around. Can more of you do the same? It would be fun to see or be able to visualize your ideas : )

another option would be to change the font of the ‘en’ put the box around ‘ventys’ and fill it in with orange, or just make the outline of the box orange.
that way it looks like EN, the thinking outside of the box phrase.
I like a clean look.
I drew it out, but not good enough to post :-)

Celeste, I like the new logo you used for your avatar. Here it is:

But this is always going to display whatever your avatar is, so if you change your avatar, this pic will change too.
BTW, there are threads in the forum about how to include images in your posts. I don’t have a link to one of those forums, though.

Hi Brett,
I will change my avatar to my original smiling face with my dog, but I did not know how to show what I did with the ones they were talking about, so I used my avatar to make it show up for this question. So that was my thoughts on how to design it…. Of course, I hope Alexa likes it, too. Playing with logos and such is fun for me. Just another way of getting creative…inventive, etc. : )

Alexa, I have to be critical,
I know this post is old but… How close a sister company!? What kind of choice was this? I just erased everything I wrote, twice.
Because if you… shouldn’t say anything at all. Who is you Edison of graphic design? Where is all that art direction? Seriously, I wouldn’t choose.
Advertising, branding…Woulnd’t get past a # 4 on the thermometer. Am I wrong to say?

Orange is associated with anger, but then again so is red, and red logos do well with the public. It is not a color you see in logos too often, therefore that might be a good thing.
