In terms of ratings, how is the show doing? It wasn’t available at all in the relatively large market of the New York City area last season.

From the last thread I read of people asking questions, what would make a fascinating story for my AllBusiness.com blog would be to talk about some of the past inventors and their products from season one. Would that be possible? There is a lot to learn from the past experience of others.

I asked this question the other day but I didn’t get an answer: Do you have an idea what the percentage of viewers of EE are non inventors. Have you gotten any positive feedback from these non inventors about the show?

Gavin,
Last year, Everyday Edisons was available on analog stations in over 60% of the USA. Including High Definition and digital, we were available to around 90%. We were seen in NYC in High Definition. WLIW (Long Island) has committed to running Season 2 this Fall.

Hey Stephen,

There is a strong possibility of using a portion of one of the season 3 episodes to see how the previous seasons inventions and inventors are doing.

Hey Jefferson,

All great ideas you’ve come up with…

I’ll make sure to integrate your request for more detailed prototyping processes, mold making, etc… )

While some I can’t do like the call to action with the EE website…only because we’re not allowed to do that-PBS rules

When we’re in full blown filming for the show and editing…it gets pretty hectic for the production crew and product development crew…so the “how-to” videos might be a little difficult to pull off….but it’s definitely something to consider

Thanks,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

I have been reading comments in other posts and there seems to be a rising doubt that the ’09 may not happen. Could there be any truth to this? An update either way would be appreciated. A previous post above from you states they would happen at the beginning of the year.

Thanks,
Chris

Okay…here’s a question when are you going to have me back down and let me know what the heck you’ve been doing with my idea for the past 15 months or so!

You guys are killing me with the wait and the delaying the season and the not knowing when we’ll be back for final filming beyond “the beginning of the year”.

I’m just teasing you guys, I know you are doing a great job it’s just I’m tired of the cloak and dagger stuff and I’m ready to see what you’ve done.

One thing for sure, I’ve lost a lot of weight from all the worrying about what you were doing and stressing over my dashboard since first filming so you might need to retouch my footage to make me heavier to match the early stuff or add a subtitle so they know I’m the same person! LOL!!!

Mya,

I don’t think Everyday Edisons limits their casting to the US crowd only. As far as I know if you make it to a casting call and your idea is one of the best you have just as much of a chance of getting on the show as anyone else. Is that true on wondrous EN staff?

Give Mya some hope.

Hi Marvin,
Season 1 consisted of two 7-episode mini-series (14 episodes in total).

Seasons 2 & 3 both had 13 episodes, which is pretty standard for a seasonal show (divides neatly into a 52-week year).

Hi EN Staff,
I see this thread has kinda gone by the wayside however I was curious do we have any type of schedule beyond the February 25 – 27th date. Those lucky enough to make it to EN for that weekend well after they leave then what? Do you have a time frame as to how long before they will know if their idea was chosen? Are we talking 2, 3, 4 months? Do we know at all. And will it be a phone call or will we need to go back out to NC to receive our fate. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi Mary,
I’m sure Kelly will write a blog post about it as we get closer. Everybody who is selected to come to Charlotte will spend a lot of time with us and will get a really good feel for the timeline as it pertains to their idea and category. We will not be taking months to make our decision after the February casting call – we’ll be jumping right into product development pretty quickly. Those who are selected for the show are in for a fast and exciting ride!

Please explain the purpose of Everyday Edisons (EE) as compared to Edison Nation (EN).

What I do not understand is how an invention gets from EN (which is designed to get the best products to your sponsors who may ultimately bring the inventor’s product to market) to EE which is a reality TV show?

Questions:

How does a product get from EN to EE?

What happens to a product and its inventor, once it is featured on EE?

How does EE work; what happens on this show?

Is there a competition between inventors and their products on EE or is it to demonstrate the process an inventor goes through before having their invention go to market?

Do products featured on EE go directly to market following their spotlight on EE?

If an inventor and their product(s) are not selected for EE, can the inventor’s product be submitted to a sponsor or does not being selected for EE mean the end of the line for an invention (severed ties between EN and an invention)?

Could an inventor resubmit an invention (to another search) if rejected for the current EN search or EE?

Hey George, EN and EE are basically one in the same. EN is the web community started by Luis Foreman and EE is the reality show started by Luis Foreman. I believe they’re both owned by Enventys which is owned by Luis Foreman. Here is a link where you can watch full episodes of season 2 and 3 of EE. It should help you understand the process a little better.
http://www.hulu.com/everyday-edisons BTW, I find it pretty interesting the crappy things you had to say about EN when you first got here without even understanding what it’s all about. I think they deserve an apology. IMO.

Hey, Commotion George, you popped in this time with some great questions, but my goodness, it would take the EN team three weeks to answer them as busy as they are right now! Besides, information is already available throughout the forums for you to dig through and find some answers to your questions yourself. How about a break for the great EN team, which I don’t mind being overly-patronizing toward right now? lol!

Sounds like those who go to Charlotte might know whether they made it by the time they leave at the end of the weekend? Or shortly there after. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

I posted this on a new EE thread, but maybe it’s a better fit here.

Since my one and only submission is in the kitchen & bath products category, I kind of breezed through the other categories. Firstly, I want to verify that the following are all the EE S4 submission categories:

-Kitchen & Bath
-Hardware, Tools & DIY
-Kids & Toys
-Fitness & Outdoors
-Health & Wellness
-Pet Products
-Home Products

Did I miss anything? Secondly, I’m trying to get a better understanding of the selection process. I believe Marvin B. had said on another thread (hardware, tools & DIY) that there will be 7 finalist selected from each category that will go to NC for final determination of G8. I thought I read somewhere else that there will be 10 total finalist the will be the EE Season Four inventors. If all the above is correct, that would suggest one finalist for each category, plus three additional finalist that would go to any category, such as one finalist for kitchen and “possibly” (fingers & toes crossed) one finalist for bath. Can anyone clarify the EE selection process?
