Is EN a first step towards an Abundance Paradigm?

I often find myself listening to discussions about creating a future Utopia.

My lady rants about it so much it is cliche and I have to stop her…“Yes dear, robots, free energy, no money…”

The hippie on the receiving end usually interjects that we still need people to do some work, that some people WANT TO dig in the dirt – and that’s the point, in an Abundance Paradigm everyone does what they want and robots/machines do the rest. I do believe that’s the point of technology.

So it’s easy to imagine this world but it is difficult to plan and implement the transitory steps to get there.

My one friend said that WE first must REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE.

I agree.

Next you need free energy (or at the least a sane energy policy). The implications are too great to go into here…

But what about Money? Surely we will need some kind of currency even if greed is eliminated and people can get whatever they want. What if the Jones’ were minimalists?
What if capitalism isn’t the answer? What is?

The love of money will have to be replaced with LOVE.

I LOVE Inventing. I LOVE my Planet. So why wouldn’t I give away my IP? If you LOVED my invention wouldn’t you want to compensate me?

I’ll buy the overpriced CD because that band has made my life so much better, that kind of mentality.

So where does EN fit in?

Open Innovation is a loosening of the greedyness or at least the elitism of the driving force of capitalism. None of us is here because we are blind slaves, we are “Noble Contributors” doing what we love because we NOW CAN.

That is one of the defining states of a UTOPIA, “WE SPEND TIME ONLY WITH PEOPLE WE WANT TO BE AROUND/LIKE/LOVE

These niche clusters are emerging from new options, filling in gaps and resolving issues of FUTURE SHOCK in realtime.

Thanks Internet!

The Abundance Paradigm is where the “Sheeple” tell the Shepard, “Hey, we are going over here, screw your fence, you can follow us if you want.” This is also known as Bottom-Up – what democracy is supposed to be.

So as stated before, Crowd-Sourcing via the Internet is pretty much the model of future government, the ideal E-Government/Direct Democracy where YOU represent YOU.

How can special interests lobby 260 million Americans?

They Fing can’t!

EN is showing us that:

1 – YES you can do what you love AND contribute to the world with minimal effort.

2 – Open Sourcing can tap emergence or reduction, here the numbers are reduced to winning ideas, the same can be applied to legislature.

Check it out if you haven’t:

Mathew,
You always have an educated take on these things and I can’t say we ever quite thought it out THAT far but I can say that we believe we’re leading a revolution in innovation where the people who want (and create) the innovation have a very accessible model to get it to market to share with others who have similar desires & needs. We’re definitely helping bring power back to the people. Consumer products are the easiest proof of this model but long-term, we’d love to start more social searches as well: cures for cancer, world peace and all that good stuff. We’ve gotta walk before we run first, though, and prove the model :-)

Hi Mathew,

There is a lot to digest in this movie. Very thought provoking. Challenges many of our beliefs and the foundations of those beliefs. I agree with you Mathew how we get to this utopia is not going to be easy. Of the three false institutions I don’t ever think I could let go of my belief in God. God has been way too real for me in my life to do that. That is why they call Him the living God.

Spangard,

Returning power to the people via bottom-up structuring is what you guys are doing, and I’m honored to be a part of it – I’m just extending the idea to it’s ultimate and logical conclusion.

In my opinion EN should keep the retail niche as neither TekScout, Innocentive or NineSigma are bothering with it. Of course if you could expand into broad industrial and green sectors I’d be all over that.

BTW, that Cornell professor lady never got back to me, I know my presence and message would totally undermine the very notion of formal education and left-brain ways.

Tom,

I agree about the God thing. It’s too easy to blame “GOD” for the humans who exploit belief.

Perhaps the Zeitgeist folks need to differentiate better; separate personal faith from Benny Hinn and Robert Tilton and their infinite false prophet clones who give GOD a bad name…of course if one is unwilling to do that internally in the first place…

The late 90’s disaster movie trend reminds us that WE KNOW what it will take to get to New Jerusalem – a sudden, and catastrophic cleaning of the slate.

“If these times weren’t cut short NOBODY would survive”

It could be REALLY easy if a critical mass is reached, but if the bad guys maintain a slow, and subtle hold we will be in an ACUTE dystopia before the sheeple snap out of it.

Thanks for your feedback.
