My Lifelong dream is to set the World Record Skipping Stones , I accomplished the feat in 1993 with 33 skips The current record is 50 and a 7 second Rock . I beat it here in LinHai China with a Stone that travels 160 yards and is on this video from 2:54 to 3:03 then if you listen close at 3:04 it clicks into that wall 160 yards away !

Ya’ll are wondering how to count , You can of course use HD video and slow it and count the rings . but after decades it is easy for us water bouncers .. 3 seconds = 10 , 4 seconds = 20 . 5 seconds = 30 . 6 seconds = 40 . 7 seconds = 50 . 8 seconds = 60 . 9 second = 70 10 seconds = 80 . I have thrown ONE 10 second rock with a 20 mph wind at my back and Down river on the Blanco about 50 miles north of San antone just under the ole steel bridge a pefrfect left to right curve straight into 200 fireflies flflying on the River Bank .. PURE MAGIC !!

Allen, It seemed to me that when I skipped a rock that the farther it went the faster it skipped. If I had ever skipped one 20 times I would have felt that I was breaking a world record.Ha. I’m still trying to figure out how you could count the 200 fire flies. How do you know it wasn’t just 197 or maybe 206 ?
