Aw shoot. Finally, all the years of having never watched Star Trek, old tv or film (except when I was turning my head away from it as a kid, when my brother did) has finally come around to bite me. “Tricorder?” 10 Million, you say? Hm. |

So you would need an IR sensor for remote temperature measurement, a camera with an image processing algorithm that can recognize red shirts, a sound syntheizer to convert digital files to audio signals, an audio amplifier, and a speaker. Then you need 2 digital audio files in some type of memory. One file for the beeping noises. The other file plays if the algorithm recognizes a red shirt. It should be “He’s dead, Jim.” That should do it. |

Fairin I think it’s late enough that no one will see me talking to an outsider…shhhh…but there is a REAL cool thermometer that looks like a laser pointer. You just point it ’s optic ray at something and it tells you the temp! |

Joseph is this for real? I know I’m sometimes sarcastic and nonsensical but I really meant it when I said “Huh?” in that earlier post. I googled it and found a number of blogs that are excited about it, and found that it was supposed to be sponsored by Qualcomm but their website doesn’t even say boo about it. Soooooooooo…..little help here. And, btw, I was very blond when I was very young, and I’m getting blond again now…but I can’t find nuttin real. But, in my defense, I didn’t look REALLY hard. |

My IPhone has a heck of a lot more then 3 apps like the ol’ trycorder. I wonder if they’ll come out with a pregnancy test app for data phones? That would be cool… |

Yes! People wear devices, like on the wrist for heart rate and temp another for blood pressure, etc and a handheld has to compile and transmit the data. Kinda sorta. Should be very interesting :-) |
