Betsy I just went to her website and it was there. :) I love the Show and have watched the latest episode 3 times! I love the girls from Dallas. Interesting thought was that I saw something very similar being sold at our Churches Christmas Market last October. I was shocked to hear they had over 5 million in sales! Especially being sold for 10.00 or less! |

Loved last nights show… I am CRAZY about the girls from Dallas…. WOW! What a sharp family… I really loved how the mom let the kids come up with there own decision… That 15 yr old is UBER-Smart… We have a “mini-mogul” in the making! Good for all of them!!! I also liked the Tea guys, thought they had a nice product in a large World space. I didn’t get the “Trash” cover at all… A cloth cover for a trash lid? I think it’s lucky for the inventor that Damon had a recent personal experience… But I’m with the rest of the Sharks on this one… The other (2) products were forgettable at best…. |

I think the nitche market bit was an excuse. The real reason was her lack of drive and commitment. She also chose to present with the smaller market first. Her point about AVERAGE size was the more telling, and no one heard it. She also needed to answer the “just learn to sleep on their side” attitude. It is a matter of comfort. |

Excellent lesson on niche markets on Shark Tank tonight. Kevin explained it really well as he was going out on the Ledge Pillow. |

Wonderful show! The best opportunity for an investor I have ever seen! Just make sure you have your figures together and have done all your homework! They are taking no prisoners, you working on their returns are all they are interested in. ;O) |

I LOVE WATCHING SHARK TANK! I am amazed how some rather simple, yet creative ideas are getting deals. It still gives me hope! :0) Also, I talked with Shelly (Creator of the Show no towels) She is very sweet, and I was surprised to get the communication back from her. It was the day after it aired so I know she had to be super busy. She reminded me of Betsy K. (Invention Angels) @ |

The Wine Bladder guy has a patent pending product… I think, I am not absolutely sure but I believe, that a PPA qualifies. Great question though! I am researching it for sure. This is the application to the show |

Do you have to have a full patent to be on the show? or, can you have just filed for your PPA? |

Michael, I believe most have contracts that they can not discuss the deals. SharkTank does up-dates during the shows on how the deals are progressing. This year they have also featured those like ChefBigShake (shrimp burgers) that didn’t take deals. The best place to get info is on Twitter from the Sharks as well as the presenters. How that helps. |

Is there a way of finding out what deals fell through on SharkTank without research each individual product? I was astonished when he took the $400k after Kevin just got done talking about how many millions they could make with it. |

I’m so glad to hear that, Zabber. I thought he was getting robbed. I was hoping he would try to negotiate a sale with a royalty, but they didn’t let the poor guy speak, let alone have time to think. |

Becky, I read other’s tweets sometimes. I just don’t tweet myself! All this instant technology kind of gives me a head ache. Ha, ha I actually had no idea what show he had been on, but I knew I had seen him and his product. So I just Googled it every which way I could, and then Voila—- I found the clip. He had actually posted it himself on Vimeo. |

That is what happens when you have a patent and sales… Patent+Sales=shark interest… He turned his $60,000 investment into $400,000 and lost $200,000 in the process. He said that he has an invention handbook. I am curious if he can parlay that $400,000 into something bigger. Especially since $400,000 enables him not to build houses for probably 2 years and focus his efforts on his new business of inventing. One thing he absolutely needs is a lesson in the business of business and negotiation. He looked like a minnow in that shark tank and they swallowed him whole. Good for him though, that was a priceless learning experience. Much further than I am in my inventing career. I hope they follow up on him and he has made millions with that money. Betsy, just watched that… Very interesting that he already turned down one entrepreneur and went onto the Shark Tank. They put the money in his hands and started to take it back and he took the hook… I love the art of negotiations, I wonder what the first offer was from telebrands. Chappy |

FINALLY, I found the clip of the show. I KNEW I had seen him pitching his wine balloon stopper before. He was on a segment of ABC’s 20/20 dealing with ASOTV products. See clip below. He’s obviously creative, but NOT a good businessman. Last night’s Shark Tank was the second time he blew an opportunity. |

I agree Roger. My wife and I debated while watching the show. As much as I dislike Kevin, I would have been all over his deal instead of a low ball sellout. I feel he made a mistake as well. |

I agree, I would taken Kevin’s deal once they started dropping the price $200,000. It would not have killed them to give him the 2% royalty and $500,000. They were just greedy and trying to squeeze him as hard as possible. He would have made that money back going with Kevin and still have ownership. Kevin would have pushed his contact to replace their current model with this new one. |

I saw him on TV four to six months ago. Some show showed the top three ideas from a ASOTV search that was done and open to the public. Out of almost 10,000 ideas presented he was in the top 3. The other was a TV remote with a string so you could find it and the other I can’t remember. His was the best by far and he received an offer from ASOTV and refused it. Said he had other offers and avenues to pursue. The $600,000 offer surprised me because of the limited clientele. That shows you what a really good idea is worth! |

No, he was on the new Food Network show and got a YES from Lifetime Brands a month or so ago…I just emailed Warren Tuttle as it may have fallen through…feel bad for the guy, he lost that $200,000 so quickly…I would have taken Kevin’s deal, I think he could have been a millionaire if he gets that patent. |

Sharks are just that. They look for blood in the water and pounce. Call it bully tactics or not, they also know that once the inventor’s head is above water, we will look for the best opportunity. EN looks to venture WITH the inventor. That is why Daymond’s opportunity is so interesting to me. It is not the typical M.O. modis opporandus. These are “Angel” investors. They are all sharks. If we generate, we do not have to tollerate. They cannot do what they do unless we are desperate for attention or money! Ego is the weakness of the human flesh… Be strong my brothers and sisters! Do not sell out! Chappy! |

Tonight’s episode was so good! What a tough position the wine guy was in. I feel like they bullied him in to that deal. Would you have gone for the $600k buy out or Kevin’s royalty deal? I don’t know what I would have done in that situation. My hubby said given the amount of interest the Sharks showed, that he would have walked after they reduced the $$ and found someone off the show. Boy, Mark Cuban can be brutal. That’s the second time this season he’s pulled that maneuver on someone. |

Maybe it was because of her good looks? I was like REALLY….soap??? Their are so many choices already available! I deal with LEDs all the time. I didn’t care for the tail lights either. I have some really cool ideas, and hope EN or Shark Tank will help me get them out there! :) |

I think the Sharks were purposely ignoring the “soap papers” because that was where the real value of something innovative was(not to discount the bars of soap-cute name witha premium look). They didn’t want to show their cards to each other? Could be wrong?, will have to wait for a Shark Tank “UPDATE” on that one! |

So true Mark. My daughters and I have been giggling about ’sassy britches" all day. :) He should have asked his for his nieces opinion before the show as she is his demographic. It was obvious that his designs were just stock patches he bought from a craft store, except for maybe “sassy britches” :). He should have been prepared with some designs to show them. Also I thought it was going to be cooler, like those blinking t-shirts you see at places like City Walk at Universal Studios, but they were more like those LED baseball hats. I love those little soap papers. If you’re in to crafting at all you see those type of things all over the place (soap petals, etc). But I love that they came in such a cute package. I think they are perfect for guests, or to carry in a purse, or for travel. |

Don’t forget the little individual soap cloths in a pocket pack. They didn’t make a big deal about them on the show, but The Tail-Light guy can be a lesson for us all. Try to step back from your ideas and see the negatives. Your customers will. |

I think the interest in “You Smell” soap was more for her trademarked brand rather than for the soap itself. I thought it was cute how the packaging said “You smell” on the front side and then on the back side said “like a lemon.” I think they thought they could do something with that more than with the soap itself. I felt bad for the Tail Light guy too. |

We have Soap Shops in Naples FL. One in particular down in Naples Proper. I love the homemade soaps and, in the guest bathroom it becomes a conversation piece. “You Smell” is a high end flea market purchase. I don’t think I would change brands for it (I use bodywash besides, barsoap is out dated imo). I just don’t see how You Smell becomes a brand unless she goes into personal fragrances… Then she puts herself square up against bath and body works or Sephora. |

I don’t think it was the soap that was worth so much, but her motivation and her graphics ability with the advertisement she made for that soap. It’s all about You Smell as an ad campaign…it’s catchy in my opinion. |

Mark, I have to admit, I’m more of a country fan nowadays. Must be the aging process. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always be a huge fan of the hair bands. On occasion I’ll even listen to a little Biggie Smalls, even Eminem! HAHA!! BTW, EM’s my third cousin. I agree with Linda on the soap brand, not a big deal but perhaps a successful venture. It seems to me the creativity or concepts are a little weak compared to past seasons. I miss the dragon’s den! Is that show still on? |
