Want to have a look around the Edison Nation offices? Anchor Jennifer Copeland of Charlotte NBC-affiliate WCNC came by this morning for a tour. They first ran the story a few minutes ago:

http://www.wcnc.com/news/topstories/stories/wcn...

After watching the story, take a look at the Live Product Search we’re doing for Charlotte charities. It’s free to enter and goes to a great cause. Unlike other searches, your ideas submitted to this one are made available to the public and any charities who can benefit from them. If it works in Charlotte, we think it will work in your community, too. Get more details on the Charlotte Mission Possible LPS here:

Very nice, Matt! I hope this gets the Charlotte locals and all us out here in EN motivated to try to help out.

this is great , it can end up helping so many out there.
it is time to use our thoughts for ideas into ways to help people.
i will say this trying to get charity from companies is very hard. so any input from anyone in the corporate world would be very handy info

VERY cool Matt!!!!

I always have had great faith and expectations from EN/EE since meeting a couple years ago. I always knew BIG BIG things are coming for all EN operations.

Maybe now it may seem we are all “skating on thin ice”…heck…went to Wal-Mart last night and the parking lot had only one good use….maybe for a football game….or maybe some stickball. How can you sell inventions in that environment???

Realize this is a depression and times are toughest yet on pioneers/inventors. Those that hang in there and make ANY strides forward may be the MONSTERS of operations/corporations when the smoke clears.

Good to see EN plugging forward. GIANT things will come into the hands of EN/EE and those that come on board yet. Trust me…I know what I am talking about in this field.

GO Edison Nation!!!!!

Hi, Matt.

Do you guys have access to these submissions? After I submitted a little crazy idea, I realized it may be published.

As odd as it appears, the idea may be patentable, and if it is, it should be to keep it exclusive FOR THE GOOD OF CHARITY. The city of Charlotte may administer the idea, and benefit from it, but the benefits may (and Should) have a broader effect. National, maybe. I tried to go back to ‘edit’ but that feature is not available.

Joaco,
This particular search is very specific that the ideas will be shared with the public to make better. We originally talked to them about developing some patent-protected type of solutions that they could license at cost out to other charities but it’s a little beyond the scope of the charities involved and we can only get so deep into it on our end. If you’d like to have your idea removed from the database, please send a message to Lake through support today and he’ll take care of it for you and you can turn it into a philanthropic venture of your own some day :-)

Hi again. Let’s just leave it there. Maybe something good may come out of it.

We have the one year rule after public disclosure, IF patentability is established. (Big IF). But anyway, exclusivity is necessary for it to work.

The premise of the idea is to feed from one single source. If more than one city would try to do it, the source would be exhausted and the concept will not be good for any charity or anybody. That is why exclusivity via patent becomes desirable.

CHARITY

Can’t find charlotte-missionpossible site on edisonnation?

I have several ideas for improvements to existing products:
clock radios
watch bands
mattresses

I would like to “GIVE” 90% of what I would ‘earn’ to charity:
Dr’s W/Out Borders, int’l
Siamese Rescue Center, regional
Humane Society of Meck Co, local

So, if ANYONE @ EDISON wishes to contact me regarding
my ideas FOR CHARITY
please send me an e-mail
CatManCares@Yahoo.com
Best,
Mr. Keene

p.s. OUT OF TOWN NEXT 7 days, no cpu available

Matt, how did the radio interview go today?

Hope you are getting lots of ideas submitted for this one. When I submitted mine, I did notice there was no place for my name. Thought that was kinda strange….

Oh my gosh, Holly. You’re right. I just submitted a “test” submission and there was no place to enter a name. I was thinking maybe you checked the box to remain anonymous, but I checked the other box to have my name attached, assuming there would be a place to fill out my name and the Thank you for your submission screen came up. There wasn’t a field to enter our names anywhere on the form. Can’t believe I didn’t notice that when I submitted.

Matt, is this a glitch or do you know who we are in some other way??

Hey Guys,
The radio interview yesterday went well! It was a lot of fun. And yes, for that particular search, we pull your name from your file (unless you check the “anonymous” box) so it’s attached automatically.

I did enjoy hearing some of the ideas already submitted. I don’t think it will “pollute” new ideas. Sounds like they are really pleased with what they have received so far, and are open to pretty much any idea.
