Waterless Car Wash

The waterless car wash pushes the envelope on how we clean cars while reducing the carbon emissions typical found in conventional cleaners. Most noted is the fact that a standard garden hose, when used to wash a car at home, will expel approx, 100 gallons of water for 10 minutes of washing. Unbelievable.

For those who are aware of the impacts of water wastage with the current drought crisis in several continents across the world, one hundred gallons of water is pretty much to save. A waterless car wash provides the same results of orthodox cleaning sometimes even better since most contain a wax that enhances shine.

This can be a double edged sword, however since most cleaners contain toxins which are harmful to the environment. Companies like ForLifeProducts or Seventh Generation aim to make products that provide solutions for everyday living that are eco-friendly and safe on the environment. The lastest product released was the Rejuvenate Waterless Car Wash. Check the ingredients here: http://rejuvenateauto.com

Wouldn’t it be great if the norm would be “waterless” to wash a car? Think of the tons of water you could save in just one week!

how about this instead . everyone go back collecting the rain water from their roof. that is free water and it does not take much rain to produce a hundred gallons. even if you just washed your car with it. or watered your lawn or flowers or garden with it you would save many gallons. i`ve even seen where you can use it to flush your toilets

We collect our rainwater to water the garden. My parents always collected their water too. I hate the mosquito’s but it’s free so why not!

There’s actually a company, out of Australia, called ecowash is already in 8 or 10 countries selling franchises. I and 2 other friends were negotiating for the rights to all of Canada.

Unfortunately, it ended up they were asking waaaayyyy too much for the master franchise for Canada, so we bailed.

Cheers, Hilander

How about don’t wash your car at all… leave a protective layer of road dirt. Why abrade the car by washing it? Anyhow, this blog topic sounds like a generated spam….

Well, I’m a car nut, sorry, but i would never use a waterless car wash on my vehicles. You can’t convince me that you’re not scratching the snot out of your clearcoat, leaving thousand of those “swirlies”.

Now before I get roasted here, let me say this. Let a professional wash, claybar, and seal your paint. Then have them apply a HIGH QUALITY wax. You will be good for 6-12 months. When your car gets dirty, all you’ll really need to do is literally squirt it off, and the dirt will come right off! You may need to actually wash it every other month, but you will save water and retain your cars resale value. A properly maintained car finish can yield up to $1,000 more in resale value.

OK, start the roasting….I can take it…….

Invisible avatar, We pick on our neighbor because he has never washed his car. He bought a brand new Charcoal Grey Buick Rendezvous 4 years ago and it never had anything put on it except rain, and you can put that car car beside anyone else’s and it looks just as good. We all find it amazing how shiny it still is!
Steven, Our son owns a black Audi and he thinks more on the line that you do.

I live on a 4 mile gravel road. I drive a maroon fire bird, very pretty car. Its always covered in dust and dirt. I can leave my driveway in it clean and get 50 yards and its dirty again. Oh well, its a small price to pay for isolation. I will clean it, then carefully pull it into the garage and leave it for months without driving it. I love opening the garage door into the house and just look at it while its clean.

I own and operate an auto detail shop and i agree with Steven. Have your vehicle professionally detailed every 6-12 months and it makes the routine cleaning much easier for the owner of the car to keep up with. I’m a car-guy and always have been. It would drive me crazy to never wash and wax my car! It would be like never never bathing or brushing your teeth! Well…maybe not quite that extreme, but you get my message. :)

BUT I must say that the mission of questioning water waste is valid.

This is spam for sure… But, if the topic stimulates conversation, then it should stay. Just don’t try to do business with them.

As far as wasting water, I have an artisan well in my yard that pumps 100s of gallons of water everyday into the river. You can’t turn them off. Everyone is welcome to come over and wash their cars for free.

Hi Colonel, On our way East to visit Robert in WV, the crowd will stop at your place and wash the motor home! Thanks.

Why doesn’t EN remove this guy and his advertising? I’d rather be chatting in the Lounge….
