I am needing some basic black and white line drawings of my concept – top & side views and parts labeled. I am also looking for some more professional color 3D renderings of the concept. Would like to use these as attachments to my PPA. I have some artistic talent, and I am unsure if I should use my own drawings to attach to the PPA, or it would be highly suggested to use a professional drawing(s) of my product. I know for nonprovisional applications perfect professional drawings are essential….but unsure how “fancy” the PPA drawings need to be.

Also does anyone have any information on obtaining a NDA that I could use for a product illustrator? Can anyone suggest someone who can help me on a (very) small budget?

I am new to all this and any info is appreciated!

I would highly recommend you read the book Patent It Yourself, by patent attorney David Pressman . It’s been the ‘bible’ in the industry for years. You can learn all about patents, and feel comfortable with most of the ‘lingo’ after reading it.

This book has very thorough and time-tested NDA and CWA (Consultant’s Work Agreement) tear out forms in the back of the book.
