EN User Conference?

Just curious if EN has considered putting on a user conference. I would love to spend a couple of days meeting in person the great people I have met here virtually and attending workshops from experts. It would be free for Gold Member of course :-) (except for travel, hotel, etc).

I suggest Vegas…

I suggest we/they call it ENtelligence 2010

I love NC and hear Charlotte is nice, but its no Vegas…I really like the idea of tours of their facility. Maybe we could watch some filming of EE?

Great idea. Maybe I’m just saying that because a few days ago I mentioned how fun it would be to lock a bunch of free-thinking inventors in a room for a few days or a week! Imagine the laughs and the productive results.(Of course, if we were in L.V., it would be difficult to confine some.)

(This all came about from the many suggestions to help me wear eye glasses over a broken nose: if you want to read some creative thinking, go to the Inventor’s Lounge.)

I am in! This is a GREAT idea, Rich! Heck, I would drive down from Michigan and pick up any EN members on the way that need a ride. One condition, I get to wear a Six Million Dollar Man mask and jumpsuit for the whole conference :)

Great idea I’m in, Colonel Steve can you pick up in northern California? that $6 Mil. mobile is awsome. I know it’s a little out of the way but it could give every one more time to talk shop.

Rich,
You should email Matt to see if this can be put together with EN.

I bet something could be worked out. The more I think about this the more I like it.

Tim,
You bet, I’ll see in you in Northern California. It is only 3 days out of my way :) Have you ever been to Pea Soup Andersen’s? That is some good stuff.

What’s the matter with you guys…we have this get together already! Rich just doesn’t know….he’s the new guy.

It’s only semi-annual and for male inventors only. We meet at a go-go bar which I cannot disclose on here…we can’t have female inventors spying on us.

Rich, you will surely be invited to this inventors meet up at the go-go bar. All we ask is that you bring enough of those cigars for everyone.

At the next meeting we will meet Mt. Boobs Sally…will be a good meeting! She will not be speaking though…some things are just better off left unsaid.

Colonel, Thanks and if you give your self enough time I’ll show you some sites.(Gold Gate bridge, San Fransisco are just about an hour away(depending on what time and day one travels) and the ocean is about 1/2 hour away as well as giant red wood trees. Have ideas will travel as they say who ever they are.

Colonel,

You can make it a 2 for 1 pickup as it looks like Tim and I might be neighbors…Tim, I am in San Jose. I can picture us all arriving in Charlotte and piling out of the smoke filled van ala Fast Times LOL.

I have sent Matt a message an referenced this thread, so hopefully we will all hear back soon.

Ron: 1) I will need to check with my wife…2) I can just imagine what Ms. Sally can do with a pole and a set of Handi-Straps…3) Do you REALLY want to exclude at least half the inventors here? Sleepyhead alone is a hoot. Would love to share a beer with her, I think it would be a riot.

Sleepyhead: Yes, I have wandered in the Lounge and seen the creative suggestions (there should be a a disclaimer for that topic that says “enter at your peril”). If you don’t care how you look, I have a prototype consisting of duct tape and packing material you can try :-) Hope the nose is doing better.

Cheers All. We will wait for word from Matt.

Heck, Tim, maybe I will take the motor home and meet up with you and the Colonel. I was stationed on Treasure Island and checked in for duty the night the prisoners escaped from Alcatraz and the belief was that since T.I. was the closest land, they had gone there. Men or bodies never found.

Hey Rich,
Thanks for starting this thread. It sounds like a great idea. There would likely have to be some sort of a minimal cost associated with the event to cover the facilities. I think I prefer the idea of doing it in Charlotte because anybody who has taken me up on my offer for a free tour of our office when they’re in Charlotte knows I love showing people everything that goes into the Everyday Edisons/Edison Nation family.

What sort of features do you guys envision?

Wow! To see the Edison Nation facility would be great! I can imagine groups of people that have inventions/ideas that fit in a constant arena, pets, bbq, cleaning, and on and on as each LPS is announced.

Matt: you have a very talented, energetic team, think about the magnitude of collaboration among the inventors here. Might be like herding gerbils but the collective genius has infinite possibilities!

The best ideas are those that your team tests, tears apart, improves, researches, and sees viable. For every one, there are thousands of choices. Collective Genius, has amazing powers of invention beyond what one can do…..except for Edison himself.

Take care.

Glad to hear there is some strong interest in this idea. I am waiting to hear back on potential dates that work for EN and then I will start a new topic that will be just to gauge interest and get suggestions for speakers and activities. If there are only 10 ppl that want to go that changes the scope completely.

Penny, I agree. Although I can also see us all so worried about protecting our ideas that we’d only talk about the weather LOL.

Margaret…uhhhh…to save costs maybe we can all crash at your place for a couple of days? You won’t even know that we’re there…

Rich:
I thought of that as well. Guess there would need to be a legal agreement signed before a collaborative workshop, one for all and all for one. Seems to be some pretty good people here, legal stuff is to keep the others honest by law.

Still sounds like fun and what an education by example in person!

Take care.

Soooo Margaret, can you see tents and fire pits and porta pee boxes all around your property? For a fee of course, just think of how pleased your neighbors would be! LOL
