If you could sell your idea right now to anyone ..any person for $2500.00
would you do it.
sign everything over to them , you no longer have any rights to it.

make sure you spend time researching to see if the ideas you have arent out there already
go to google search for a fast search. if you dont find it change the words around a little
you might be surprised to find its out there already. may not be on the market but its got a
patent.
so if i had an idea and someone would pay cash it would be sold.
also it takes some time for things to move on your dashboard…and they usually dont move past G-3 untill after the search has closed. and its almost time for them to show it to the sponsors

No I would not sell my invention for $2500.00, $25000.00 maybe, but I know it is worth even more than that. It’s just that good. I did the research on it and couldn’t find it, if I had of, I would have bought one, lol.
I would sell it though and a lot more of my idea’s that I know are pretty good, things’s that make life a little easier for everyone. We need that!!
I am a first timer, with BBB and I am waiting, lol, Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just take our idea’s straight to an Invention Buyer? Is there one? Lol.

you would hold out for 25000.00 why?

Roger Brown says you wont get rich inventing unless you hit a home run the best yo might do is 50,000 with a lot of sells. your only talking 1 to 3 % of the whole sell price. that not alot if your idea isnt a high price item and high price items dont seem to turn alot of sells, when you think about gadgets or trendy items.

i think i`d sell an idea any day of the week for for what kinda cash i might need at that time.
it would be like selling only high dollar cars on a car lot, then you have to wait for the high dollar spender, but if you have cheaper cars you`ll get everyone. well same here if i have a good idea , i make more if not i make less but i`m not waiting to see if it the big ticket only to find out i get nothing.

My aunt is an antique dealer. Her philosophy is to sell it cheap and just sell more. But hold out for the price you really want and it sits there waiting for the right buyer. She calls it the “fast nickle, slow dime” philosophy.

how true.. you might sell one dime item a week.. and only make that dime by holding out…“but” if you sell 5 nickle items you`ve make 15 cents more.. which is better?
this goes back to my idea of companies retaining their own eye doc and dentist..they would work for the company at a set rate and price and be busy all the time. instead of work trickling in.

This site: www.innocentive.com offers you that very opportunity. If you have a lot more ideas than time, this could be great! They are offering rewards for solutions to specific problems. I’m entering three right now.
Warning, you are definitely giving away your IP for a one-shot fee.
EN is better, but why limit your opportunities.

Hi. EN family in waiting, lol, thank’s Joe and Mark, I think I will stick with EN with my idea’s, I’ve never heard of those people Mark and I’ve learned not to trust to fast when it comes to inventions because they are known to be copied and someone else getting rich from your idea.
Robert I would like to make as much as I can because I feel I have a good invention and 2500.00 is not enough money these days. Who knows what can be made from a mass market item? What do you do when you know you have an invention that you know will be popular with maybe millions of them being sold? How do you put a price on that?
It would hurt me if I sold my idea for 2500.00 and it went on to make millions, $25.000.00 would make me feel better, lol

And good idea about the doctor thing, Robert, that makes sense.

it works like this . you are holding out because you feel your big idea is the best and your gonna get rich..we all do lol
but mean time i`ve sold ideas to joe shmo who i dont know for 2500.00 his company loves my ideas even if they dont produce them , maybe they sell them over seas.
so your still waiting. so in this time i`ve sold 100 to 500 ideas to this company.
mean time i`ve made money and your still waiting.
so this day in age “having cash is more important”
unless you have the next form of fuel formula i dought that millions would be in the picture.
but then again one day you might very well make me eat crow.lol
i`ll take my cash now

you have a car for sell you want 10,000.00 for it. people look but no one buys . someone offers you 8500.00 you say no i want 10,000.00
well time passes the car sits there 6mnths 1 yr the next thing you know 2 new model yrs come out. now your 10,000.00 car is not so new and it starts to show rust from sitting. now you wish you took the 8500.00 but find out now your car isnt worth 4500.00
and plus in all this time the Chinese have already produced your idea

Hi everyone,

pls. don’t talk down on your ideas like that.

i think everyone’s ideas are unique created especially by you.
has anyone ever thought about creating your own LLC corporation
and financing your invention ideas into creation. no, i’m not saying every one
of them will go to market. but if you have a good gut feeling about any of your inventions
and they’ve been rejected, start your own company.

the product companies will view you in a different light when you present yourself
as a corporation.

and the great thing is, you only need one person to start a corporation in Nevada.

anyway, a lawyer i met through a business associate is helping me to set up an LLC in Nevada, for around $1000. i will be listed in Dun and Bradstreet, they work toward building business credit for me in 3-4 months, mailing address, bank acct with wells fargo, 50% less taxes, asset and privacy protection, the whole nine yards. i think Delaware used to be the corporation capital of the world, but now it’s Nevada.

anyway, i’m excited. and just wanted to share this info with all who are interested.

just to say, when one door or many doors are closed on your ideas, seek alternatives. when theres a will theres a way, and i’ve found it.

if you’re interested and want more info, just message me.

Getting a Nevada LLC does look pretty easy, but with a Nevada LLC, looks like you may be subject to multi-state taxes having to do with Nexus: http://www.nvinc.com/nservice10.htm

To get listed with D&B looks like you can do it yourself:
http://www.ehow.com/how_4762721_do-dunn-bradstr...

For establishing business credit here are some steps: http://www.mynewcompany.com/credit.htm

There are a ton of web resources out for establishing an LLC and suggest interested folks spend some time checking them out. I was curious about Nevada LLCs and found the above information in about 10 minutes of searching. The biggest downside I see is if I had a NV LLC and was selling in California where I live, looks like I would have to pay an additional $800 to California to incorporate plus pay state taxes.

Sharon, I have a Nevada S Corp. even though the business and license are in AZ; therefore, I pay AZ state taxes, plus IRS. If you do not live in NV, you will need an agent to represent you there and there is a yearly fee for this on top of the NV Secretary of State yearly fees. You will have a NV address but if mail goes there, you will have to pay for the mail service to forward anything which is not a legal document.

Now, back to the original question about selling all rights for $2500: absolutely not! Heck the patent renewal just cost me $1240! I would LOVE to sell the patent or license it but certainly not for $2500. I wouldn’t even sell the non-patented rv step cover business for $2500 but certainly would for $5000 IF they would pick-up the inventory and haul it away.

Sharon – maybe it would be better if I didn’t think off the top of my head and got everything organized; however, I believe that after one or two years, you will have to add a Director and then after three of four years you will have to add an Officer. And that’s it, folks!

No. I can give mine for 300.000 EUR. If you really badly insist I can give it for 299.999 EUR. :-)

I personally look at ideas for how inventive they are globally and what they are actually worth if properly introduced on the market. I might be old fashioned but it is an insult to my brains to sell something worth millions for 2500$. Plus in my country you have to pay taxes for that amount so it is not 2500$ but much less. :-)

2500$ with profit shares or any sort of partnership perhaps but just 2500$ never. Besides we are not in 50’s anymore. 10.000$ should be a fair start for this kind of buyouts. :-)

Ideas have little to no value. Anyone can have an idea. It is what you do with the idea that makes or creates the value.

Now if you say you have a Patent, Patent Application, Copyright or Trademark you have something that can be sold. But an idea? It is like selling a ghost… there is no way to deliver and probably nothing actually there to be sold anyway.

People often talk about selling their ideas. There seems to be a mythical story about getting millions for a thought and people like to believe it. But frankly you can’t sell something you don’t own.

Here is a blog post I did about this topic some time ago. (http://inventaholic.blogspot.com/2009/06/one-th...)

Where I get confused is that there clearly is a patent for Remote Control cars, but there are hundreds of varieties of this. So, having an idea for a new one can not be a patent violation. I can’t own this patent, but I can sell the concept, correct?
