T’was the Night before Christmas (…in the E.N. forums)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the forum
Not a keyboard was stirring, from the usual quorum.
The submissions were reviewed in the dashboards with care,
In hopes that green check-marks soon would be there.

So the community was nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of royalty-checks danced in their heads.
And both the drama… and relief… and anxiety’s trap,
Had finally settled down for just a brief winter’s nap.

When out on the laptop arose such a clatter,
I awakened the desktop to see what was the matter.
Away to my mail the pointer flew like a flash,
Clicking open the inbox and reviewing its stash.

I dimmed the screen slightly to tone down the glow
Giving just enough clarity to the keyboard below.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But an email from headquarters say a new update was there.

With my latest submission looking so cool and so slick
I knew from the get-go that it would be a sure pick.
But then more rapid than lightning the doubts surely came,
And I started to question my hopes of sure fame.

Now, Matt! …now, Scott! …now,Chris! and EN-Team!
Oh come on Louis Foreman, can you envision the same dream?!?
To the top of the G7 list, and then to a place on your product wall!
Don’t dash away…or be too rash today… and trash away all!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So too my dreams up to the heavens they flew,
With visions of full retail distribution, and some big money too!

And then, after a quick tinkling, and as more of a goof
I tried dancing those doubts away, but tripped over the pooffe.
As I got up off the floor, and turned back around,
It occurred to me, if need be, where encouragement can be found.

Why it’s here in the forum where wisdom’s always afoot
The place to turn to before declaring ideas caput.
So off to the website to see what results I got back,
And to see if my phenomenal idea… was truly worth jack.

(skipping a few stanzas… ’cause I still got presents to wrap… and probably so do you all)

So I sprang back to my laptop, and gave the ghost of Thomas Edison a whistle,
May his determined spirit be forever at our side …to brush past any dismissal.
In closing… I exclaim to all Inventors visiting this site…

I haven’t been on much lately, lots of stuff going on during this busy season. I keep checking in to catch up, lurking daily at everyone’s progress. BLESSED to have so many good, kind, considerate and funny EN FRIENDS !

I love so many of you goofy people here I don’t know where to start. Miss Jane was my first friend and she is to this day. Toni, Betsy, Frank, papa jim, miss you Jack, Rog, Greg, where is Holly and Katie? Biskit, we don’t talk much but you make me laugh, thank you.

But He gave that all up temporarily, because:

And for some,
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” (John 1:10)
