Oh Jeeeezzzz….. had he been a micro second later throwing the drouge, he would have augered in!!
His parachute wasn’t even open all the way when he hit the ground… well, when he hit the ground
the second time!

Like I’ve said before, such an extreme passtime would be like the most addictive drug on the planet…
you would be compelled to go further and faster and nearer EACH time; there would be NO goal or
level of achievement to reach… just to keep getting faster and nearer, until finally you stretch it
too far.

Thanks for finding that Colonel…. in my life I always said there was two things I would NEVER attempt
doing: Ski Jumping and Bull Riding…. now I think I’ll add Proximity Sky Diving to the list!! Yikes!!

Frank I got the stills on disc and vid… I’ll find them here some time soon and see what I can do about getting them to you…The, um, instructor-guy (tandem) strapped to my back kinda takes away from the spirit of the event…haha…maybe next time I’ll spend a few more hours in training so I can solo.

The location of the “Crack” video is somewhere in Switzerland; here Jeb talks about that
particular location as being the ultimate, mainly because there is zero margin for error.
Had he scrubbed the ground there like he did at Table Rock, it would mean tumbling into
that vertical walled canyon, where a parachute would be useless.

I’ve read the greatest hurdle those who wear the flying squirrel have to overcome is the feeling
they can actually “LAND” the cape without pulling their parachute; many rookies died as a result.

They have some type of device that automatically deploys their parachute if they hit something,
as was demonstrated a few years back when Dwain Weston got killed while on a jump with Jeb.

Do you happen to have any of those great “in-flight” pictures from your jump, Kevin?

I’ve flown airplanes since I was sixteen and always maintained that the only way I would leave
one while in flight, voluntarily, would be if it was breaking apart or on fire…. can’t even imagine
JUMPING just for the fun of it! YIKES!!

nkaaaaaaayyyyy….there’s one that got bumped off my bucket list in one day. It sure looked cool ’til an hour ago.

I know that where I went skydiving last year they were big on the flying squirrel and I thought…“hmmmm…but flying SQUIRREL? (buzzkill)”.

Thanks Colonel!
In the zoomed-in slow-mo sequence, something leaves a mark on the rock face he hit…
Heck, just barely clipping anything at that speed would be disasterous!!

Here is a video of his crash last Monday, you see at 0:30 where his legs clip the ridge. It looks like he somewhat recovers to save his life. (Note: brief language at 0:24)

If one ever got into living on the edge like that, it would become more addictive than any
drug; continually pushing the outside of the envelope and reeling it back in…

Just got word that Jeb Corliss is hospitalized after hitting some rocks on a jump from
Table Mountain in South Africa on the sixteenth.
