Is the real world like CSI? Does each plastic have its own unique chemical signature so u can tell who made it? How much plastic is floating in the ocean and at what point does it become profitable to scoop it up and recycle it?

I’m imagining somethin along the lines of those huge ocean going seafood processing plants only they’d be harvesting raw plastic materials like a glorified swimming pool filter. |
