Why Edison?

I’m wondering if Edison is the right inventor to be using to represent this organization (Edison Nation)? There has to be famous inventors that invent low-tech consumer products. I’m wondering if instead it should be Ruth Handler Nation (Barbie inventor), or someone like Peter Durand Nation (can opener inventor). I’m new to this group and am happy that such an organization like Edison Nation exists to help us inventor’s along, but I think if Edison were alive today he would be inventing something a kin to the world’s most efficient fuel cell generator.

You are absolutely right Juan!!! I’ve been waiting for someone to say this!!!

I think they should rename it after me! After all…I am one of a small handful of Polish inventors…just trying to end all them Polish jokes…

How about SkiNation…after the ski in my name. No…wait…Poleski Invention Company….or maybe Handi-Straps Nation…this way the whole nation buys my invention….everyone.

I deserve it! I got the biggest mouth here…longest posts….most posts….and a pretty damn good invention…atleast I think so…

Juan, I think it boils down to name recognition.

William, I have corrected you…

Okay, now the serious part.
Ron deserves it!
Why?

  • He has the biggest mouth here

  • He has longest posts

  • He has the most posts

  • He has a pretty damn good invention

  • He has a humbleness about him :)

Well…since Matt just…“took off”…and abandoned the place…we should rename the place.

If not after me then how about after Roger Brown…Brown Nation. Might fit with Obama as President and we can also use that slogan…. “see what brown can do for you”

Well…where is he? He is usually on here saying hello once in a while.

Everyone on here has to report back once in a while…I made up that rule…like that song says…Hotel California…you can never leave.

We are like a gang here you know…the gang of inventor geeks…and like any other gang…once you are in you are in…or else…read the fine print.

This is because we do share secrets of intellectual property here at times. So if you stray too far…I send some boys from back home in the Bronx, my Italian side of the family…make sure you don’t blab nothing.

Yeah Yeah Ron… I"m still here! We’re working on a lot of great new stuff and I’ve been offline a bit in the process. Don’t worry, Marla keeps tabs on you and reports back ;-)

Speaking of which… Anybody see our new blog!?!

We’re planning on including a lot of “insider” info on the blog as well as general innovation/invention news with the help of our friends at Inventors Digest:

Oh, and if you don’t follow us on Twitter yet, you should do that, too!

Hey Matt:

Ron should get “the stir the pot award!” Passion, conviction and passion. PCP…. Ron, passion and conviction is a good thing, the rest of us can be tentative, modest, and not be capable of showing your passion. Edison was passionate, good for you in that ability. Others are more quiet about it but no less passionate, just not as verbal. Contrast is what makes the world go round and encourages people to be the best they can be or settle……Inventors don’t settle, they change the way we look at things. Thanks for your passion, inspiring. Though if there wer a hundred of your passion spoken here, daunting. Take care sir. Matt, this is for you as well, inspiring and daunting. Ramble I do, yes.

Love the forums, makes one think…“outside the box”! A great place to be, not complacent, that is easy, not fun or challenging. Take care and MGB you all…a smile from the heart feels better than anything else.

juan, I think edison is the most appropriate for this forum as he was the most prolific inventor in the country. to name it after someone else would not do it justice. If the whole group of members could only together match edison it would be a miracle.
