I’m in with 8x G3 and 2x G1. Remember, rarely will a submissions go past G3 before the closing date (3/1 in this LPS).

Are your ideas new or recycled?

I am sitting at G7 in the 3Q search and am thinking about entering the idea in this search. I guess it is worth a shot.

This is the first time I’ve submitted and I’m not sure what you mean by 8x G3 and 2x G1. What does that mean? The number 3 is checked on my dashboard, so is that considered G3? Sorry, I’m a newbie.

Tracy- I have not recycled a ASOTV idea yet, but I will resubmit my R8s I have submitted to ASOTV 2, 3 and Q1 2010. EN says that often they are presenting to different DRTV partners, so I think you should resubmitted, especially since you are a Gold Member (no cost).

Kelli- Never hesitate asking questions on the forums. I was a newbie 9 months ago. Yes, with a checkmark on the 3, you have a G (green) 3. The next step is G4 or the dreaded R (red ‘x’) 4

This is my first submission, I entered it in December and since January 13th I’ve had a green checkmark on step 7. I guess I’m waiting to find out if the sponsor wants to use it or not. Unless I misunderstood the rules, once you reach this step you are not free to opt out, you know, take your idea and go home. Not that I’m contemplating that, but it puts you in this “limbo” and I’m wondering if any of you know, typically, how long this period usually lasts. Thanks and good luck all.

The ASOTV names get confusing. There has been a total of (4) ASOTV searches (LPS). Are you certain that it is for “Q1 2010” or is it “As Seen On TV Quarterly”? Usually things do not move past G3 until the closing date. Usually the search partner will make a decision on the G7s within 45 days – 6 months after the presentation date, which is listed on your dashboard after a date is set. ASOTV searches are a little different, since Edison Nation has these search partners in their offices often. So the presentation structure may not be so formal. Blah, blah, blah I hope this helps.

I’m in even though I swore I’d never be back after my paintwell bombed. I think my problem has been adopting a positive attitude which makes rejection so crushing. So I’ve decided to waste another $25 to get another R4. But I look upon it as a $25 lottery ticket that doesn’t really have such bad odds as compared to other lotteries. Plus I’m sure I’m going to win the two name searches so that will offset my losses. Oh crap, there goes my positive attitude again. Ok I have no chance in the name searches either.

I have two ideas sitting at G2.

I hope to get that curse lol. Do ideas just pop into your head or do you purposely look for way to improve things etc.? One member said he walks through the department store looking at things to get ideas. I sometimes see something and an idea just pops to mind but I wonder how so many on here are able to come up with an ideas of even ideas for the specific sponsors. Anyone can chime in on this. :)

Often ideas will “pop into my head.” I always carry a voice recorder with me. There are two times in the day I seem to generate the most ideas…at 4:00 am, each morning, when I’m walking and when sitting in LA traffic. I record all ideas, no matter how dumb they may seem at the time. I am always looking at things and asking myself if there is a “problem” here that needs a solution. I try to observe others, like a group of construction workers, a mom at the mall, a DIYer working on his house, etc. I believe we often think that if I’m having a difficulty, then others must also…or if it works for me it must be fine for everyone.

I will try to come-up with ideas for specific LPS. I have been really focusing on the ASOTV searches. Coming up with products that can be manufactured for around $5 with a wide demographic appeal. It is a numbers game. I often envy those that come up with an idea and focus all their energies to make it successful (sometimes that can be dangerous)…I guess I’m an inventor with A.D.D.

lol I know all about that ADD thing. Thank you Eric for the insight to your brain. I hope to be able to train mine to see more opportunites. It is a little more in tune already. I just need to get it going for the LPS. :0)

I thought you were going to go all the way thru. I’m new at this process, but reading Eric’s comment above, it was impressive you were at G6 this early in the game. I’ve read your comments on other topics within the forum and you seem very talented and a true inventor.

I’m not an inventor—-would never give myself such an impressive title.
The idea that I won with just literally popped into my head. Over the years I have had many ideas but there was never an avenue for them—-like Edison Nation. I would never have the talent or the money to get something to market. But I can think, and wonder, and then if an idea comes to mind—-it is easy to submit. So I am too learning from the real inventors, but—I do keep my mind open to ideas. And of course watching late night ASOTV infomercials—-doesn’t hurt!!! :-)

A G8, Betsy I think that will get you to the inventor status. I am very anxious to see the products of all the G8 holders I have seen. Hope to be one one day. Thats a good idea watching the informericals. :0)

Hi all. If this is the thread for the ASOTV that ends March 1st I’m in, but only just in at G1. Here I go again. (kinda missed it though, if I’m being honest :)

This is the first idea I have submitted, ever. I always seem to be coming up with things here and there. Some crazy, some not so crazy. But I figure if some one can take a robe, turn it around, and add extra material at the bottom, maybe some of my ideas aren’t as crazy as I thought! lol

I only stumbled onto EN last week when I was researching the steps to submit a patent and went off into a link clicking session and found the As Seen On TV with Edison Nation 2009. I thought, “darn too bad it wasn’t last year.” But did a quick search with those key words and 2010 and wow! There is a chance still!

I had no idea there was a place like this that would give people like me a chance to show an idea and let it be heard or considered. On Friday the 19th I submitted my idea and today I got my second green check mark. Even if I get thrown out at 3 ( I might shed a small tear of defeat) I will forever remember this. As our money situation gets better I will be entering more ideas.

I am looking at this experience as a fun one, not to be taken too seriously, but if an idea turns into something more then great!

It is a great opportunity here and I got my fingers as well as my toes crossed!!!

The snuggie is crazy, I thought it was a hospital gown that got overloaded with dryer lint when the dryers malfunctioned and a janitor was cleaning up the mess and got the idea!!

I just submitted about a week ago and am at G2. I got blown out of the water twice last year (at R5) for both WalMart and Amazon on an idea I put a lot of time and energy into. This submission for ASOTV Q1 was kind of on a whim so I’m not as emotionally invested. I say that but I do find myself checking my dashboard a couple of times a day. It’s fun.

This might not be the right thread but I couldn’t find the one for the ASOTV search that ended in mid January. Anyway, I have a G7! and am a finalist with my product idea being presented to the ASOTV Product Search people TODAY! I am so excited I just had to post. I made it to a G6 on an idea last year but never had an idea presented……Oh my beating heart….I’ll keep you posted (forgive the pun). Good luck to you all in the latest ASOTV (and other) searches. This site is just wonderful for people like us…..
