How long can I consider myself a newbie??

In my mind, after going through one LPS, you’re no longer a newbie. You’re a veteran!

It was a short journey, but I am proud to be an EN veteran!

I’m new…just signed in. I didn’t know there was a LPS for outdoors with BB&B. Where is it that you found out? I must be missing something. I thought EN e-mails all the new LPS .. I didn’t get one.

I’m new just started 2wks. ago. I re-submitted my other ideas to BB&B outdoor living and i am glad i don’t have to pay again. So now i have 4-G1’s , its very slow it seems like it’s going to take forever. My other entries (mixed) is also taking forever but i’m happy to have 9- G3’s. I am very positive i just need to be more patient. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!

True I didn’t get email notification either so it pays to keep checking the site. I assume that if 100 people have a similar idea, only the first one gets to move on?

Ralf, I think I read somewhere on the site that when similar ideas are submitted they evaluate which one of those will work best. I don’t think it’s judged based on which was submitted first.

If I recall, the emails don’t go out the first day an LPS opens. It seems like for every LPS, I’ve known about it for a long time (weeks) before I ever get an email about it.

Susana – Ideas seem to hold at G3 the longest – maybe several weeks. Up to G3 the system is pretty automated. Once you’re at G4 the EN team starts looking very closely at ideas. I

Renee & Ralf, Matt Spangard answered that very question on an official thread 4 months ago, so I’ve copied and pasted his answer here for you:

“First, if there are two ideas that are the same that were submitted to a search, it’s most likely that they aren’t actually that unique and we’ll find even more of them when we do competitive research so it’s a moot point.

However, if lightning did strike twice, we would do the same thing that the patent office does. It would come down to who actually invented it (can prove they thought of it first). That’s why inventor’s notebooks are so important. If you don’t have one, pick one up and start using it as they can be invaluable in proving the date of inception of your invention."
