So you should add edisonnation to your email so it will not get rejected……

Thanks, I will…but usually I get all my other spam…unless I actually block an address (doesn’t seem to work, though!) I go through the spam daily and delete anything that looks…well,“spammy”.

I stopped receiving e-mail updates when I changed my e-mail provider. I’m sure they are flagged as spam, but unfortunately they do not get to me either in order for me to add them to the safe senders list.

I have tried using both my work e-mail and my personal e-mail… no luck.

Some of us may simply be destined to stay in the dark!

Hello Sherri, a lot of email and internet service providers are marking email from EN as spam, so please continue to check your dashboard.

I’ve had the same problem. I use Windows Mail and Road Runner. I guess they think EN is spam, for some reason. EN acknowledgements can’t even get to my junk file. There isn’t any tweek I can make to get the messages. I just keep checking my dashboard and hope somebody will figure it all out. I know my ideas were received, so that’s the main thing. I did at least get an email to notify me of the ASOTV deadline on March 1st— just in time!

Same here. I get the LPS and other announcements from EN, but not the dashboard updates or emails from other members using the “email Carrie” link on my profile. I’m sure the emails are getting identified as junk mail, but they don’t even show up in my junk mail folder. I use hotmail btw.

This same thing was happening to me a while back, and so I asked my husband about it and he fixed it. I never used to receive any notifications from EN, and they never showed up in my Junk mail folder. The reason was because we were using Thunderbird to check GMail via POP3. That meant that only the emails that GMail thought were not spam ever even got sent down to my computer, so they never even made it past GMail’s SPAM filters. Logging into Gmail’s WebMail and checking the SPAM folder there, sure enough, showed all of the EN emails I had been missing. Now that Gmail knows those emails are not spam, it sends it down to my local computer with no problems! Not sure if this would apply to your situations, but hope it helps! So, if you are using any sort of email client and accessing your account with POP3, you might have to check the SPAM folder on the actual account and not the local one for your email client, if that makes sense… Have a great day and happy inventing!

It doesn’t make sense to me Maria. I am not so savvy, nor do I have gmail (Hotmail for me), but I always thought that if my spam filter thinks it’s junk, I still get the last chance at it in Junk? I see now what Carrie’s been saying…absolutely no communication from EN or through the system here gets to me. I tried emailing someone and marked the box to cc me, and I got nothing either.

Like Carrie, I get the veeeery general announcements from EN, that’s it.

We use AOL at our house for e-mail…and have had the same e-mail address for like 7 years now…I dunno??!!

There are a few issues at play here… First, the newsletters are sent through a system specifically designed for mass email and those servers are all pre-approved as non-spam servers from all Internet providers. We pay a lot of money for access to those servers because of that feature but unfortunately, we can’t use those servers for one-off emails such as receipts. There’s a competing service that launched recently that would give us some additional tools that might allow for one-off emails and we’re investigating moving to that system – but it’s going to take quite a while to investigate and implement.

On the spam filter side, many people (like Maria posted below) have two or more sets of spam filters but don’t realize it. She was only checking the spam filter in her email software (Thunderbird) but she didn’t realize that her mail server (gmail) had an entire different set of filters. Her husband logged into the Webmail interface to gmail and set up a filter to greenlight all of the Edison Nation messages directly to her inbox. Going a step further, some email providers may block particular messages before they even get to a spam filter based on other sets of rules that are beyond our control.

On our side, we aren’t on any spam blacklists so we’re technically in the clear. We’re still going to investigate the system that I referred to at the beginning of this message in order to make it easier for everybody.

If you don’t receive our email receipts/friend requests/personal messages, I’d recommend calling or emailing your email provider (after checking your spam filters of course) to ask them to “whitelist” email from Edison Nation. If they are willing to do that, it will fix the problem.

In case it’s helpful, i am happy to report that I am again getting the automated e-mail receipts, acknowledgements, etc.

Me too. The switch to Gmail made the difference for me.

All of a sudden the e-mails are starting to flood my way as well at AOL!

Well..it seems I might have spoken too soon as I haven’t received anything on my submissions of this past week (on AOL e-mail) It WAS working for a few days though…I even had some friend requests in there..Thanks,guys! But now, it seems dysfunctional again:(

I haven’t had email from EN is ages, I have comcast and added EN to my address book, with no
success. Guess I’ll try calling comcast.
