Hi All,
I am currently in 3 different LPS’s and one EN Fund search….with the same product.
To better explain, my invention has been stuck at G5 in the EN Tech Fund for approx. 6 weeks now but it is climbing the ladder and sitting at G4 in the Skymall LPS and G3 in the ASOTV and G2 in the Daymond LPS…
I initially submitted the invention to the EN Tech Fund waaaaaay back in last year but it seems that the EN Fund searches take much longer than the LPS’s. I know this is hopeful thinking, but if my invention is ultimately picked as a winner in the Skymall LPS does that mean it is only going to be allowed to be marketed SOLELY in Skymall?…I would definitely be thrilled to be chosen in ANY search, but I dont know if my invention would sell enough units in a outlet such as Skymall to make my fortune….hahahahaha…Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys for your replies…I guess what I have to reallize is EN is trying to make as much money as they can just like I am. I need to hope and assume they are going to look out for the best market avenue for my product (if it even makes it of course…) Anyways… as always, I appreciate the input.

I had the same issue, not that it is a problem, but issue nonetheless. I submitted the same idea into the fund and ASOTV. It went G7 in the ASOTV as it was G5 in the fund. Well it went R6 in the fund and that was weird to me considering it had already been past 6. But it was going deep in the ASOTV… so I think they just opted out because of ASOTV. So then it went R8 in ASOTV and I asked that question in the forums. I received feedback from the forums and EN for the R8.
The forums said, for the fund, it might have been developed by somebody while ASOTV was running their market evaluations as sometimes the same idea could go to market at the same time with two people. The ASOTV feedback said that there wasn’t enough problem awareness at the time. Very confusing time for me… as I felt I missed an opportunity for the fund because of the ASOTV G7.
Well, I submitted it again to ASOTV and it is G7 is the final standing, so it went past 6 again. Thank God it wasn’t developed by someone else. I learned to trust the EN process. It may not be perfect but it is designed to protect our ideas as they find the best route to market. I also learned to not get emotionally tied to the outcome for one search. Perserverence is trully a time-tested attribute we must all have.

Hi Daniel,
Since Skymall only markets products that aren’t available anywhere else the answer is yes, if it was picked for Skymall it is only going to be on Skymall. Yours is a common problem – an idea moving through several searches at one time. It is my understanding that Edison Nation will allow the idea to move through all of the searches and wherever it gets selected first will get the idea. I haven’t ever heard that Edison Nation steers an idea to a particular search to increase profit potential, but I can’t say 100% that they wouldn’t. Hope this helps.
