STAGE 1

So I was reviewing one of my G1 submissions…in the process. I had a light bulb moment and updated/ edited my G1 to include the new info….Since it has not yet been “pre-screened”, can I assume EN will get the newer version? Thoughts? Thanks!

Got it! I grasped the stages, just in the context of posts, G1, R4, didn’t quite jive.. “there’s only one scale… G and R?” facepalm

Thanks! ;-)

Rion click on your dashboard and a pop-up will appear explaining the stages. G means green…that’s good, you’re still in the running. R is for the red X which means you’re out. So if the green check is on stage 3, that means you’re G3 and so on. :)

Rion,
Welcome to EN. You will do well for yourself to get familiar with the “search” button at the top right of your screen.

G’s and R’s are Stage Progression… quick cut and paste

Stage 1 Submission Received – Your submission has been submitted successfully.

Stage 2 Pre-Screen – Your submission has met the minimum requirements of the search.

Stage 3 Initial IP – Your submission has passed our first round of competitive analysis and intellectual property review.

Stage 4 Research & Design – We review and benchmark your submission against competitive products. In some cases, our product designers may enhance your idea to take it to the next level.

Stage 5 Final Consideration – We benchmark your submission against the other submissions for the search. The best move forward for more in-depth intellectual property review (stage 6). Key review criteria include: market potential, price point, match for the search sponsor, and any other requirements defined in the search description.

Stage 6 Final IP Review – We perform a more in-depth analysis of competing intellectual property, patents and ideas in the public domain.

Stage 7 Finalists – This is our final review. If your submission passes this stage, it will be presented to the search sponsor for consideration.

Stage 8 Success – If your submission has passed this stage (the exclamation point turns green), it either means (1) your submission has been selected by the search sponsor for commercialization; or (2) in the case of ASOTV items, your submission has been selected for testing. We will contact you directly with more details!

Not Selected Your idea was not chosen – If your submission is not selected to move on at any stage, you will see a red X over that stage.

Again, Welcome to EN!
Chappy

I keep seeing references to G1, R1, R8… I only have one submission, to the Daymond John open innovation challenge. My little dashboard widget shows that I’m just past the initial IP screen, at stage 4 I suppose. Is this what y’all are referring to? Looking through the forum, I don’t see a breakdown of the categories I keep seeing mentioned.

shrugs

Thanks in advance to helping a newbie.

Also,I want to apologize IN ADVANCE to the EN staffer that gets the pleasure of pre-screening this one…
I am seriously thinking about deleting the entire idea section and simply replacing it with…..
“Just call me. It will be less painful.”
This thing has morphed into a completely different animal.

I can see it sitting there….alone in the “Daymond John IN Basket”….
EN Staffer: " It says COWBELL..give it to the new guy for initiation——-on second thought, scratch that, he might quit."

Greg:

I am 99% certain that the information system used on the web site is fully version controlled. Meaning that all submitted changes are stored as a separate file; with the lastest being the most prevalent. Also, each submission would be time stamped and referenced to the pacific time zone.
