Kewl – The one I had all set for Razor may be good here too. Have you tried this thing? I can barely stand on a normal skateboard. There was one open on the floor at Wal-Mart I tried…damn right it comes with an instructional DVD!

Hmmm, gonna go YT this as I have to know…

They make it look too easy.

Street Surfing seeks innovative action-oriented toys and action-sports products.

For your submission(s), consider the following sub-categories:

Action sports products (such as skate and surf products)
Action sports accessories
Action-oriented toys (think Frisbees®, Slip N Slides, Hula Hoops®, backyard toys, etc.)
Wheeled goods (skateboards, scooters, casterboards, and so forth)

ENJOY!

A close and much younger friend of mine said that taping into the mainstream skateboard products industry is no easy thing. The “dork” factor keeps new skating products at bay (yes I believe Wave board included). If you think about it, the skateboard hasn’t changed much since the late 80s – early nineties. Kids reject change…they don’t want us messing with their stuff. I have a modification idea for skateboards that allows them to skip over those “skate stoppers” that they place on bench and ledges to deter skaters. My friend said a crow bar and hammer would be a better sell.

I just entered something I hope wins because its something I would really like to use myself. Juan, I never thought of the dork factor. Some folk may actually find a novel design appealing in its dorkiness. Kids before they are indoctrinated into some elitist skater culture will adopt a new design and welcome the chance to master its capabilities before its really popular, then when they are highlighted…

I like the Trikke idea but you never really see them. Too dorky or expensive?

Marla, where it says that professional drawings are preferred, do they mean mechanical/CAD drawings? Do you think, generally, this LPS is more about finished/near-finished products than others might be?

Josh, I think if you have a great idea it will not matter if its near finished or not. Street Surfing prefers professional drawings such as CAD drawings so that the can fully conceptualize the invention, but I would encourage you to submit whatever you have.

OMG I thought I could skip this search because I had no ideas in this space. Now I got 10 and no time to prepare a decent submission with dwgs n stuff. I guess there are worse things to complain about. You don’t actually need to know something’ll work before you submit it do you? Who cares, it’s only 25 bucks.

Thanks Marla.

Yeah, that’s encouraging. Because my ideas for this search fall into two categories: might disregard the laws of physics, and blatantly disregards the laws of physics. I’m not even sure how I’d draw the FTL drive for my rocket scooter.
