Forming a company

Has anyone formed a company for developing and marketing products? What type of company did you form? At what point in the inventing process did you form it? What do I need to know about forming a company?

I am seeing a lot of inventors a limited liability company (or in some cases, multiple limited liability companies) for this purpose. I suggest you consult with a business attorney who has go over the different types of business entities and their respective benefits.
