I am gearing up for the ABC Kids Expo in September and I need a manufacturer who can produce my product in the US. Can anyone please recommend a company who specializes in infant/toddler accessories or clothing? I am looking to stay in the US b/c I am not sure what my demand is going to be and I do not want to risk placing an order overseas and have it be held up in customs or pay outrageous shipping costs.
Thanks.

I wish I could help you with that. Have you checked Alibaba.com for any US manufacturers?
I might be considering ABC Kids Expo too, if I get my product done in time (overseas).

Brad – this is my first time attending the ABC Kids Expo. I heard it is a great show and could open many doors for me. I have a lot to do before I am ready to go and finding a manufacturer is my #1 priority.

Carolyn, is the ABC Kids Expo a good show? Have you had a lot of success there before?

Thanks Michael – I will contact Marla.
Janice the only reason I am looking for a manu here in the US is that I cannot commit to a very large order right now b/c I do not have the demand and if and when there is a demand I cannot wait 3-6 months for product. I am doing the ABC Kids expo in September and the buyers are going to want to know when I can have product for them, how many units I have available, cost etc. and if I don’t find a manufacturer before I go I shouldn’t even bother going. It’s been very frustrating b/c I want the demand and this could be my chance. I’ve already reached out to a few companies I found on line. Hopefully I will find someone.

I tried having my product manufactured in the us and the big road block is cost of labor. the only people I found sewing are the blind and handicapped and they make all of the military gear. Result: they only want multimillion dollar government contracts. Most are currently involved in making new uniforms for the army, light weight and breathable, makes sense but doesn’t help me . I went to china after I said I never would but when the product costs so much in the us to manufacture there is no room for profit and you can’t reduce the price to sell to distributers.

Marla is very easy to work with and has reasonable pricing. Her company is called Mid-West Apparel and you can email her at marlacsdesign@aol.com. I have used her for a couple years.
