StackMates

Since Karen’s original thread cannot be responded to, I’ll start this one because, as many of you already know, I am a huge fan of Karen’s StackMates and can’t wait for them to come to fruition so I can be the first person to purchase wholesale. I have distributors who do RV shows all over the country and they are also ‘chomping at the bit’ to get them.

Anyway, Karen, I just got around to catching up on reading and finally read the April issue of ID: nice letter to the Editor and nice article – was that even mentioned here in the threads? Congratulations.

They store so well. The stack is only as high as the tallest container. They all fit in there. They’re really terrific!

Margaret, Karen’s product is SO much better: I gave it the tomato sauce test in the freezer and the microwave and there wasn’t any hint of red when I wiped it out. (In a motor home, it is wise to wipe plates, containers, etc. rather than rinse – and then, of course, wash.)

The StackMates fit perfectly in the refrigerator because they aren’t round or oblong and they have almost square corners which fit into a corner. AND, I can SEE what is inside much easier than any other container: the plastic is clear, like glass.

I was given Rubbermaid’s solution to this storage problem as a gift. (the one where the lids snap together and store under the containers). I’m really unhappy with them. They still take up too much space and the stack of lids don’t attach well to the bottom of the container. They also get that staining and melting when certain foods are reheated in the microwave (claims to be microwave safe). If Karen’s product doesn’t stain or melt, I’m ready to buy! I can see how her stacking system is much better. Congrats on the ID mention, Karen!!
