I Need Survey Advice

I’ve created a 3 min survey to gather information about Urban 12-24 year olds. Can anyone give me suggestions so that I get better (more helpful) data?
Here’s what I have so far…

Also, if you can forward this to anyone who could take the surevey, I need more data.
Thanks

Hey Howard,

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with surveys. The first issue is that if you get too much into asking consumers what they want you have to remember that consumers can’t possibly suggest something they could never conceive – perhaps this is why Apple doesn’t use focus groups.

On a more technical note you need 384 people segmented by income in order to produce a statistically relevant survey, and that still comes with a 5% margin of error. I’m not saying that getting any 10 people can’t be of value to you. If that helps you refine to the “next step” than great. However, if you’re trying to pitch a potential licensee and hoping to gain leverage by showing positive survey results you better at least have the 384 people segmented by income in order to produce a statistically relevant survey.

Zoomerang can deliver you these kind of people and numbers in as little as 24 hours, but it doesn’t come cheap. Each survey completed will cost you $5-$10. The upside is that these people are guaranteed paid completes. If they don’t take your entire survey they don’t get paid, and therefore don’t count toward your total quota of survey takers. My recommendation (and personal trick) is to load up about 5 surveys into one big survey. Yes it will take them around 30 minutes to complete your mega survey, but if they don’t complete it then they don’t count toward your total quota. I see the value in paying someone $5-$10 to get their opinion on 5 of my projects…it’s a tougher price point to swallow when they’re only giving their opinion on one project.

For what it’s worth I rarely check these forums because like most on here I am a workaholic inventor taking projects to market. However, your post caught my eye and I hope you find my information to be helpful.

If you decide to get some demographic quotes from Zoomerang ask for Andres Grunbaum – he’s a real pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for advice on Edison Nation Eva Winger (she commented above) is one of the classic greats on these forums.

Keep up the good work!

Howard…you have quickly posted twice EXCLUSIVELY a link to your marketing operations for hire and nothing else. Why don’t you say hello? This appears to be as pure as you can get to spam.

There are many HIGHLY intelligent special people who are worth getting to know here and not just for plugging a website to.

I put my website but that is really just to show who I am and I am here to taolk to fellow inventors and make friends as my priority.

Try getting to know people first…it works better…..trust me.
