Hi:
I have been here a few years as many have. They come & go but of late, many newbies and this is a good thing as EN is a great place and opportunity.
In this adventure of possibilities and opportunities we each have, there are many here that share their experience, guidance and wisdom with all, that is very cool about EN.
We are a community that supports and helps one another. Once and awhile…there are challenging circumstances and we overcome that and or it or them.
I just want to repeat, in it’s own thread, how much Roger Brown gives knowledge and guidance to all, with a passion to help. He earns no income for sharing his experience and guidance with us and sometimes gets the occasional…challenger…..pffft.
Just want to say, Roger, your knowledge and guidance is appreciated and while I have not stepped outside my safety/lazy zone yet, when I do, your guidance is invaluable. Many have stepped out and no doubt taken your guidance and teaching with them.
Thanks Roger……sincerely, me.

Hi Frank, Here you go.
Every day is a little different depending on the projects I am working on at the time. So, I will give you an example of Thursday. I cold called a company that deals in plumbing products Wednesday and after talking with the VP of marketing he agreed to review my submissions. They normally only look at patented ideas, but after looking at my website he agreed to give me the option of sending non-patented items to him for review. He is having their lawyer amend their confidential agreement for me to allow non-patented ideas. So, Thursday morning I was at Lowe’s at 7am when they opened. I wandered Lowe’s until about 9:30am having looked thoroughly at all the plumbing fixtures and making notes on some ideas I had for new products.
Got home around 10am and answered about 30 emails, made a couple calls to 4 companies that are holding my submissions to find out their status. Called the company that is producing my two new kitchen products (Measuring cup and whisk) due out February of 2012 to check on the samples they made.
1:30PM went to the post office to mail off the Looking2License CDs that were ordered this week and check my P.O. Box. Received 3 signed NDAs from companies I had spoke to Monday and a package with samples from an Inventor wanting me to check out her product.
3:00PM Back home answering 18 more emails from Inventors, reading 7 email responses from various companies I had sent out earlier in the week and responding to those.
4:45PM- started calling four toy companies on the west coast about my submissions.
6:15PM – doing research on the internet about my plumbing ideas.
7:30PM- redesigning my Ball Valve tool while watching TV.
8:40PM- called it a day.

You know, Roger…I don’t get to stop into the Inventor’s Lounge her at EN as often as I would like, but I noticed you never stop in there???
Just wanted to let you know that you missed an awesome party the other night as we were celebrating Penny’s birthday and Toni L’s anniversary….but when this selection was played on the jukebox and everyone did the “Roger Brown” out on the dancefloor..I think all that alcohol and fast dancing totally wiped me out! LOL!! The flipside of that selection was “Thank You”!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQTJh8XCM5M&...
Thank you for everything you do for us, Roger! You know we like you!!!!

That’s ok Roger.
I have another one that is just-as, if not more, powerful than that one. It is at least 7 years before its time, just as the one you reviewed was when it was originally ideated. EN is currently reviewing the new one. If anybody can get it done, they can.

Chappy, finished reading your business plan. As expected it is well written and full of facts and figures. Good example of what a business plan should look like. Shame you were not able to execute the plan and get it funded.

The difference is that Bernie Madoff made numbers tell a story other than fact of past performance for the benefit of future gains. That is just wrong!
The Bernie Madoff story is one of cooking the books and booking the crooks.

Just want to add; I appreciate the way Roger is straight up with people when answering their questions…. it may not be what they WANT to hear or be how they THOUGHT it should be, but at least he’s being honest and who could ask for more than that?
When anyone ask a direct, specific question of Roger, he replies with a direct, specific answer… not a multiple month drum-roll, waiting for the ‘big reveal’ kind of answer, or some Zen Riddle that nobody gets, or just ignoring the question altogether; straight answers/lessons that are based on years of HANDS-ON experience.
THANK YOU once again Roger!

11 pages is impressive considering there is a title page, a prefix and 3 pages of graphics. Heaven help you when you get to the spreadsheets. Businessmen love spreadsheets. Those are what I have received the most acclaim and happen to be my greatest strength. I make numbers work. Numbers sing an unparalleled song that makes sense to a trained ear.

this is no beef with Roger. I sent him a business plan and there was no feedback but I didn’t expect any either.
Penster wrote… “Once and awhile…there are challenging circumstances and we overcome that and or it or them.” Then further antagonized with…" He (Roger) earns no income for sharing his experience and guidance with us and sometimes gets the occasional…challenger…..pffft.
That is an “Us-Against-Them” mentality. I didn’t think that is what EN had in mind when they opened up a public forum. Facebook has inacted “bullying” rules and many states. As juvenile as bullying is, when there is a persistant group that refuses, deminishes or abolishes thoughts that do not align with their own and prevent exploration of concepts that are not of the groups origin the group is engaged in bullying activities. If the group holds a single figure head who has teachings that cannot be challenged. That is a cult if it is not a religion.
What would you call it?

Chappy… “The Situation”… LOL… Handled? Really… Big thanks to Roger is cool but how can a “Us-Against-Them” mentality be healthy? It isn’t.
Maybe a new cartoon can be started… “Battle Bloggers Ho! all you need is a computer and a internet connection and can join forces… Be a ”Battle Blogger" TODAY! “Ask not what your blog can do for you; Ask What you can do for your blog.”
Funny stuff! pffft…

Yes, I agree, Roger, I learned the lesson of a sell sheet when you posted it and now, every single product idea I have has one and I recently received a huge contract with just 1 sell sheet for concept with just a PPA! Excellent work! I have not had the chance to talk to you in person, but that one lesson really helped me and thank you!
