Any guess on which current commercials you’ve seen might be an ASOTV search in the testing phase?!?

Yipes..I remember another pantyhose commercial for UnderAlls when they first came out..I wanted to play a trick on my mom when she purchased a package of these. I cut out the “rear end” portion to show her how they jiggled back and forth like on the commercial but I had accidentally cut the pair of pantyhose inside when trying to perform this magic trick for her!! Eeks!

Oh..and Tickle anti-perspirant was another ad that had us laughing a lot!!

I don’t remember that one, Jane..but I remember the Marlboro Man riding on his horse and had to laugh when someone here said Eric resembles him!! LOL..My mom thought that guy was a hunk!!

We always loved the commercials when we were young kids..we used to use our cassette tape recorders and create our own newscasts with all the commercial breaks in between! Kept us entertained for hours—I remember one was a spinoff on the Leggs’ Pantyhose commercial that went like this:

Our Leggs.. Fit Your Legs
They Hug You
They Hold You
They Never Let You Go….
(to the bathroom)!!

Another time we poked some fun at my father who came back from grocery shopping with tons of these new generic products and was commenting what a difference in the grocery bill, etc. etc? Me and my siblings each grabbed a yellow/black box of a generic product and stood in front of my dad singing this song:
(Addams Family tune)

We’re cheap and we know it
Our yellow boxes show it
We got money but don’t blow it…
The Generic Family..doodoodoodoot!!

Nowadays the kids get to do all this same fun/silly stuff with YouTube and make fancy, high-tech newscasts and commercial parodies!!

My son does that too, Sherri ;-)
Do teachers have to take a lesson from the ASOTV writers when they introduce a new topic? Make it sound bigger and better… farther and faster… whiter and brighter… Do they need to work on a sales pitch to compete? I love teachers and they have so much to get across. And now kids brains are even more full of commercials. I keep editing this because I started to think more about when I was a kid. We memorized commercials too. Who remembers what comes next? “Winston tastes good like a (bump bump)_____”

It’s rare that I get to see any commercials while watching TV with my husband, the channel surfer. My 7 year old now comes running to me whenever she sees something neat on a commercial…sometimes she jots down the 800 numbers, too! :-D

Just read this article and had to laugh way out loud when I remembered back to when my child was about 4 and nearly pulled my arm out of its socket hurrying me over to the TV so I could see this incredible new stuff to remove any kind of stain. Billy Mays had my daughter totally convinced that Oxyclean was the most amazing thing on the planet!!!

I saw Easy Reach on Pitchmen so I don’t think it’s that. Is there a specific channel where most infomercials are shown? I haven’t seen most of the ones mentioned.

I only hope that Daniel is working on shooting my spot in the next two weeks… hint hint, just saying…

Deedra,

I produce and edit a couple dozen infomercial each year.

Maybe I can slide in a discreet Edison Lightbulb or something for like a frame or 2.

Sherri, maybe you’re right! I like the Easy Reach! Daniel, how many ASOTV infomercials would you say you make in a year? Sounds like you are busy busy with them!!!

And YES to the hidden gem. That would ROCK.

Hey Betsy,

Thanks for all your kind words! You know first hand all the craziness that is involved in these beast (it’s never ending). We are kicking out infomercials around the clock. Making the final tweaks on one today actually and have 4 spots to film in the next 2 weeks…

I should have put a hidden “easter egg gem” like they do in DVD menus on the Gyro spot since it’s always playing. I gotta keep that in mind for our next hit.

Deedra—-it’ll never happen. Daniel’s worked too hard on the spots. It all still needs to be kept Top Secret, or it could wreck the testing process. He may be smilin’ on the inside…..but that’s all we’ll get out of him!!!! :-)))

I don’t think that link (Telebrands product) is the very same commercial we saw on t.v. though? Also keep seeing a new commercial with some glow pens (can’t remember the name) that write on a pad that you stick on things..comes with lots of bonus items too and I can’t even find this one to link it! My daughter wants it and now I’m wondering if this might be a new EE/EN thing, too!?

I have no idea where I saw this, but as soon as the name search for the pet barrier came out I thought this was the product. I’m not even sure it was on TV, though it must have been. It showed a woman opening her front door, and as she opened it a three foot pet blocking shield in the form of something like a pull out movie screen was pulled out of the door frame by the door as it opened, so the pet couldn’t escape. I’ve been going over and over it in my head to try and come up with a name for the search, but nothing yet!

Sherri—since Daniel is EN’s Infomercial Wiz……….my guess is that—it is definitely NOT an EN thing. Daniel puts EN’s commercials together waaaay better than that! He is amazing!!!!!!! The key is to look for the really great spots!

Well..I don’t know if Telebrands is one of EN’s ASOTV sponsors, but my husband and I saw this commercial ad (for the first time) the other night and sort of wondered if this is in a testing phase and an EE/EN invention?

Hi Deedra, what was your guess? My guess would be the the plastic clip together pieces that you can use
to shorten or lengthen your slacks.
