Has anyone heard of NineSigma or has participated in their Open Innovation searches? They are a company that posts Request for Solutions from fortune 500 companies looking to solve very specific problems (e.g. Corrosion resistant, conductive coatings for stainless steel). The don’t charge you for submitting solutions. The payoff looks enticing.

Yes, I have heard of them. Gizmo sent me the link and info last July. They have other searches, not so technical as well like pet hair removal…

You will need to copy that entire link, above, into your address bar for it to work.

Here are the lists of searches…http://www.ninesigma.com/RSS.aspx

I personally have not participated in any. good luck if you choose to :-)

I noticed that they host a “Prior Art Challenge” where they look to see if anyone could uncover public information that would invalidate existing patents. One patent claims a method of healing wounds by use of “negative pressure” by use of a suction cup. They’re offering $25,000 for the first person to show prior art that would invalidate this patent.
