someone can reproduce virtually the same invention as yours but as long as their claims do not ‘read over’ your claims they have not infringed A new nightmarish piece of patent terminology for me |

I think Brendan you are talking about a new use type of patent. An example I read about is the medicine aspirin. Supposedly if the drug is given to cattle it causes weight gain. Now a new patent is possible because the application and results are both un-obvious and novel which is key to obtaining a patent. Same product, different claims. |

Hi Brendan I wrote my own patent(not fun, took forever) I think dond is right. I read a book called Patent it Yourself by David Pressman and he uses the cattle aspirin example in his book. |
