So if you submit your idea for the Fund, I see there is patent fees not to exceed 10k. Is that money you need to come up with out of your own pocket? I thought EN ends up patenting the product anyone, so why are there fees? or are the fees what EN pays? tia

Hi Carla! I just wanted to clarify that there is no limit to the amount of patent cost/investment we make for ideas that we pick for the Fund.

That section that you read on the FAQ was for a different referral program that we run with attorneys who have clients with great ideas but no funding. They can refer their clients to us and if we select their client’s idea, we agree in advance to use the referring attorney for the patent work – and that’s where the $10k comes into play. It’s there to keep us from getting locked in with an attorney through the referral program and then getting taken advantage of if the attorney tries to overcharge us since we are locked in with them. If such a submission required a larger IP portfolio or more work on a particular patent, we’d just work one-on-one with the attorney to take care of it.

Based on your post, we’re removing that section from the Fund FAQ and are moving it to the actual pages that the attorneys use through the referral program. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Greetings Carla,

EN pays any patenting fees in the event your idea is picked for developement. Your total expense is the entry fee. Hope this helps, and welcome aboard! <:-)
