Cad help... Trying to develop a prototype.

Hey, I’m looking for a company to help me produce 3D Cad drawings to develop a working prototype. Can anyone direct me to any good places with reasonable pricing? I am located in Philly and I don’t have a billion dollars to spend…

@deaconlen52
It’s great that @aaagrace was able to help point you to Google Sketchup. There are other resources on this thread that you may find useful.

No problem, Leonard. You are going to LOVE it. Don’t forget to find those videos that teach you how to use it – it will make it even simpler!

nothing wrong with your invention, logical as anything,
only thing i can say is perhaps, maybe you could have another shorter video condensed version to get the idea across quicker to a buyer.

leonard
last year I was riduculed on the bbc tv- prime time,—- well i boast, i had to share a humilating mocking programme with about 6 other budding inventors, a lot because i did not have a proper prototype and somebody mentioned how my prototype was home made, so it can all be food for the bullyboys to knock your efforts.

LOL@ Mr. Brendan!

Ive been thinking long and hard about this one as well. I have a few rough prototypes that certainly get my point across without a doubt. My fear though is that when I approach potential retailers, I won’t be taken as serious as I would with a actual working prototype closer to the finished product as possible…

But, it would be really cool and cost efficient if I were able to just use pics, my rough cadd drawings, and my prototype to have a prototype developed or maybe even take them into meetings with would be licensees…

What do you guys suggest?? Heres my idea… (Patent Pending)

Have you tried a free program from Google called SketchUP. It was recommended by someone here on EN. I downloaded it and used it since then. It is very pretty easy to learn and they have videos to help you get started. If your prototype is not extremely complex, you maybe able to do it yourself! Good luck to you.

I got a patent and i still have not made a proper prototype only what i made myself if that is any inspiration to anyone

or maybe a serious flaw of mine

I only made mine out of stuff i got in a hardware store

and when i told some people they used that against me.

as if all inventors were owners of factories in china who could knock out factory made stuff at a whim

John Vilardi, he is a member of EN and many have used his services.

Up in right hand corner, the green search button, type his name in and you will find him and people that have worked with him. Good Luck.

Thanks Equardo! I certainly don’t to spend more money than necessary. However, I do need to get the ball rolling. Any suggestion on someone I could contact?
