Contacting a company about an idea

What would be a proper way to contact a company to see if they may be interested in an idea? Is there a formal way of doing this so they don’t just read it and hit the delete button? Any thoughts?

Hi Todd
I am getting ready to contact some companies to see if they are interested in my invention. I had the product made and created a 1 page website with pictures of the product and its functions plus I made a video for the website that shows the product in action. The video also pitches to the potential buyer why the product would be profitable. Companies are interested in products that have a large demograph, no compitition from other products and low manufacturing cost.

Alot of companies have submission forms were you can give them links to a website with pics and so on and the will get back to you if interested, but be careful and read the forms. If your product is a good one get a provisional patent for $110. Hope this helps, good luck
