Custom Silicone Bracelet

Hi everyone—

I am getting to the prototyping stage and am looking for recommendations, plus any thoughts/personal experience you all have to offer about costs. My product is a silicone bracelet with a few additional functional compontents—I think it should be pretty basic.

Thanks!

Sarah,

For you prototype, getting a silicone bracelet may be a problem if you are looking for a cast part. You could have urethane parts cast from RTV silicone molds. However, the urethane parts will not withstand high temperature if that is of concern.

Also, silicone is likely to flash in the molds (injection-molding) than other elastomers, so there are fewer contract manufacturers available that are skill in developing tooling for silicone parts.

i think if it were made of Teflon it might be better. there are many different forms of Teflon and the elasticity of it.
you might try checking it as a substitute for Silicone
