Electronic prototyping

Hi everyone. Brand new to this site. I’m hopeful you can help.

I’ve been mulling around an idea for quite some time. It involves what I believe is a fairly simple circuit (I’m a software developer, not an electrical engineer, so I admit I’m somewhat guessing there). I needs to be battery powered and small (think small wristwatch size.

How do I go about finding a design engineer who can also initially guide me as to a ballpark idea of the per unit cost in mass production and then (if feasible) the cost to develop a prototype?

Thanks so much!

To locate a person, you might try calling/email-ing your local IEEE chapter and ask for a contact.

Otherwise, if you can’t find an electrical engineer, do a google search for “electronic design services”. There are several in the Boston area (Boston Design, Celerity, – no endorsement implied) and I see an outfit “Nuvation” in the silicon valley area. There are many.
