I’ve got my prototype done on my new idea and after just one day, i can see it working. Its going to take a couple months to see if it will really work, but after one day i’m excited. This has me rethinking my first idea that walmart shot down at 5. I didnt have a prototype for it because i just dont have the stuff i need, but i’m encouraged to work a little harder to make one because it is great idea also. I go from thinking ‘great idea’ to ‘stupid idea’ to ’i’m an idiot’ yadda yadda yadda

Cowgirl Linda, I feel your yadda yadda.

I have an idea that’s been Red-X’d twice at R4. I don’t have a prototype. I don’t even know what this product would be composed of.

I do know what it would be used for. But it’s not a very good use, and there are a multitude of other products that do the same thing.

So why do I hang on to this idea? I dunno. Maybe because it’s just too funny to throw out. Or maybe I’ll come up with a serious use for it. Someday.

Or not. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Good luck with new idea! (;^)

Linda Congrats!

I’ve been sort of at a stand still for the last two weeks. I finalized my agreement with Spencer Gifts and have been tooling with another novelty idea and even approached a few companies, but being the holiday times, things are moving especially slow.

I always feel best when I first develop a concept/idea/invention and am tinkering with it on paper and as a prototype. I haven’t had any new ideas recently, mostly due to the fact that I’m looking too hard. I think I need to relax and let my subconcious kick one out like it usually does.

I always find that prototyping answers alot of questions and creates alot more at the same time. I think with a prototype in hand, even a crude one, you can start to visualize things you can’t when on paper.

Have fun and enjoy!

Can you share any details about what type of product it is without giving it away? Like is it a kitchen product, sporting goods, etc?

Jason

The Colonel started a new forum and I think it might help "y’use guys’ (I’m originally from R.I.): go to “The Idea Den”.

Perhaps you should start thinking that its not your product that wont make it, maybe it is just the multitude of things that can stand in the way such as economy, maybe it just isnt the right time for it, perhaps there is too much involved, or maybe it would cost more to make so it wouldnt be profitable. there are many great ideas that wont go anywhere for many reasons. I would be happy to look at your idea and see if I could help refine it or look at it with a different set of eyes.

Thanks for the offer. I’ll see how it keeps doing, so far so good. We are fixing to get hit with some really cold weather, which will be the real test. If it can be used year round i’ll be so happy.
