Hi Everyone:

SLA is a type of rapid prototyping that can produce incredible detail…

I think you’re going to like to see these short videos.

Just click on each of the following links:

If you want to find out more, just go to www.3dsystems.com

There is info. on their website about service providers that can make these type of parts for you.

(Also, if you haven’t seen the Z CORP video I posted in this forum, I highly recommend it too— it’s a cheaper and faster way to make presentation model parts (not as detailed, though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHPKrtmBh_I

I don’t know about their high res capabilities, but RapidPro (www.rapidpro.com) did an amazing job for me. And at less than $200 for a fairly intricate part, they were well worth it. I uploaded my CAD file output from the free Alibre software, and within two weeks I received two copies of an SLA prototype. A few simple steps to create a silicon mold, and I had more prototype copies than I knew what do do with!

Just a word of caution about the Z-Corp, the parts are very fragile and would not be the best choice for small mating parts. The Z-Corp is the only rapid prototype machine on the market that can do full color prints. Where I work we have two 3D Systems Viper SLA machines, one Objet Eden 500 Polyjet and one Z-Corp Z510 machine. All are very good machines but all seem to be better at some things the others. If you have any questions please let me know and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

Hi: I edited the above post. I deleted a video that was not as good as the first two.
