I think the idea is pretty cool. The products produced that I saw last year however don’t have a lot of detail. The real limitation I thought was the “print” head that lays down the layers of melted plastic. Even with poor resolution, it is quite an accomplishment.

Yes the print head is one of the barriers people are working on as for detail there are some examples at this link.

Alberto, I’ve been looking at these prototype machines for a few days now. I expect there might be a need for them among those that frequent this site. Excited to hear about your progress with the RepRap.
I think it’s probably the better choice btw it and the MarkerBot CupCake.

Hoping that someday I might also get a unit to play with.
