Ouch. My heart goes out to you. I spent about that much time working on the trigger job and the stainless hammer/grip safety of my last 1911 project. Turned out to be a great shooting .45, but when you’re trying to get a perfect fit and mirror finish with nothing but silicon carbide stones and little bitty Swiss/jeweler’s files, it can take hours of painstaking hand work. Stock up on aspirin, and don’t forget to take breaks frequently, or you’ll get reallllllly sore fingers. A hot cup of tea isn’t a bad idea either – forces you to stop sewing for a few, and just holding the warm cup does wonders for circulation! Good luck on the submission!!! |

Okay Eduardo! It’s good to know there’s someone close by who can do some quick stitching in an emergency! haha Don’t forget, though, that you don’t have to submit the prototype or media right away when you submit the idea. You can add it later. Great Fortune! |
